  But then I dun think 6 or 7 Litre engine can do it. Needs high revs to accelerate. Quite a few Citaros use 12 L bcos more efficient.

  The cost difference of an OC 500 LE chassis with an OM 906 hLA compared to an OM 457 hLA engine is non-existant because of production quantities (they don't make them with the OM 906 hLA because there is no demand for the chassis with this engine). The difference in fuel consumption is also negligible - the heavy chassis actually makes the 6.4-litre OM 906 hLA work much harder in comparison to the OM 457 hLA - meaning higher consumption. There is more to gain then lose with the 12-litre engine.
