Yeah, Euro 2 was introduced to the EU in 1996, Euro 3 in 2000, and Euro4 in 2005. And Euro 5 will be 2009.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Yup.![]()
Mk2s where got slow lah? Today, I take the 192 MK2, managed to overtake 2 243 Mercs...Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:MK2 maybe lahs, cranky suspension, and speed is quite slow for me, suitable for their roads. But dont think they can afford it leh, cuz sekali SBST sell it at a high price since so many people like them. SMRT sekali sell UDs cheap cheap, cuz many people dont lyk them.

He lives in SMRT area, but always post things about SBST buses by using information mainly based on what other people say, otherwise its a few bad incidents which makes him think so.Originally posted by stooper:Mk2s where got slow lah? OI! WHO SAYS I SAY VO2x SLOW??Originally posted by Scania:He lives in SMRT area, but always post things about SBST buses by using information mainly based on what other people say, otherwise its a few bad incidents which makes him think so.
151 Mk2 can chiong, 154 and 74 one also. He haven't try before only. The VO2x on 154 also can chiong, Jurong Industrial one also can, but he always say Voith slow, so VO2x become slow.
Aint there DAFs and the very nice sounding Voith O.405Gs in Bukit Panjang?Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:OI! WHO SAYS I SAY VO2x SLOW??VO2x are my fav DDs leh! Last time took it on 93 BC chiong bloody fast, then see got plp flag bus then da brake, i nearly crash into the windscreen arh.
VO2x last time i take overtake a Mercs rigid (SMRT) and a bendy bus, where got slow? In fact, VO2x is the fastest DDs i had ever take (cant say abt B9TLs, since i haven't take it). Last time chiong until dunno what was roaring. Voith is only slow when, gearbox don downshift(like what i experienced on the VO2x when it went up a slope) and always stick to highgear. Otherwise Voiths can achieve remarkable speed, take the MKIII and VO2x as an example. Voith on Habits also fast what. Just that i dont like Voith over ZF is acceleration, cause i prefer acceleration over top speed. Abt technical stuffs like reliability i cant say anyting abt it.
Infact it was the VSO that made me have a bad impression about Voiths, since Voith made it even slower in acceleration, since it was already underpowered. Also, you mentioned that i lived in SMRT area (BP), so im more exposed to ZFs than Voiths, therefore its natural that i prefer ZF over Voiths.![]()
Yup there is, but i seldom take DAFs, Voith O.405Gs also sometimes take, about 75% i get a ZF O.405G (190 has quite a number of Voith bendies, but too bad i seldom take 190, as i take 960 more.). All other rigids and bendies are all ZF.Originally posted by Scania:Aint there DAFs and the very nice sounding Voith O.405Gs in Bukit Panjang?
I don't think can... all new buses must be Euro 4 and WAB... Unless there's a WAB version for it..Originally posted by swee_heng:Heehee....later SMRT buys Isuzus with SC Evolution bodywork (like those you see running Sentosa. hehehe

if not maybe k230? I think it can with the Volgren Cr bodyOriginally posted by off_service:I don't think can... all new buses must be Euro 4 and WAB... Unless there's a WAB version for it..![]()
Thats why i seriously want the Scania K230UB on our roads! Cheaper, engine last longer, PLUS, Scania has my favourite wheel rims. But i really hope it can be bodied with the Habit body, ofcuz with a different configuration from the Habit O.405Gs. Like the europeans', instead of orange bars, use yellow, instead of hand grips, use straps. But the new Vogelsitze seats is a must! The type that B9TLs uses.Originally posted by swee_heng:if not maybe k230? I think it can with the Volgren Cr body
We'll just wait and see which will be the ultimate choice for SMRT. No doubt to you the Scania K230 is the best choice, however, SMRT could be looking from a different perspective. If it turns out to be the Scania K230, good for you. I think with the new rulings, the major players in the bus industry would be in the fight, and a good fight IMHO.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Thats why i seriously want the Scania K230UB on our roads! Ya, but if SMRT buys japanese bus also good what, so long the bus got nice suspension.Originally posted by off_service:We'll just wait and see which will be the ultimate choice for SMRT. Yah cheaper, cannot run as fast as a L94UB or N113CRB because of exhuast recirulation.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Thats why i seriously want the Scania K230UB on our roads! Ya i get what u mean, u mean i suck to Scania right? As in sticking to Scania. Btw dont think SMRT will remove the dress rims, seen most Mercs have most of their dress rims on, whereas SLBP the mercs so funny, their dress rims (aka nut guard )Originally posted by Scania:Yah cheaper, cannot run as fast as a L94UB or N113CRB because of exhuast recirulation.
Habit? You love habit? Interior sucks you know. why stick to Hispano? Why not try some Soon Chow (for your info Soon Chow buses are far more superior than all the leaking Hispano Mercs).
Dress rims ha, what if the remove them like slbp does with its Mercs (and amdep to a smaller scale).
You are a Scania sucker (note that i don't mean Scania sucks), I love to have some Volvo or Mercs.
You should see the recent products of Soon Chow, hundreds of them, coaches and public buses (that is if you know which buses are produced by Soon Chow).Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Ya i get what u mean, u mean i suck to Scania right? And yes, i do want to see Mercs! Especially the Citaros, infact im a Citaro sucker more than Scania sucker. But dont think SMRT will buy mercs yet, cause its rather high priced.
IMO, Hispano has leaky interiors mainly because of poor maintainance, then if not why some Habits are leaky whereas some dont? I still prefer Hispanos leh, their sales of the Habits are not bad leh(im not favouring Hispano because of their sales). I like Hispano because the interiors doesn't produce irritating clanking and banging noises when going over bumps, unlike Volgren, which produces loud clanks and bangs when the bus goes over the bump. Im not sure about soon chow, about the PSV MKIVs, the interior quite dull leh.Its just my opinion, so pls dont shoot me with hard remarks ok?

Plastic interior?? Like those BP LRT white plastic interior?? I like them!!! I like the white-ish plastic interior of the LRT, looks very classy.Originally posted by Scania:You should see the recent products of Soon Chow, hundreds of them, coaches and public buses (that is if you know which buses are produced by Soon Chow).
Soon Chow's design is considered good already, look at their coaches and DDs, though the DDs have a very plastic interior.
erm... ya u are quite right , how i hope to see Isuzus as Public Transport vehicle , wonder how will that Isuzu look like under smrt?Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Ya, but if SMRT buys japanese bus also good what, so long the bus got nice suspension. But hopefully no chinese bus loh, cause the chinese are really good at imitations and fake goods dont last long.
Somemore the bus dont have much safety features(see the cherry QQ and you know what i meant" At least jap buses maybe got ABS or other protections.

No website for Soon Chow, very exprienced bus building company. IMO, looks much more better than SC Auto (SC Auto is NOT Soon Chow) or Liannex.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Plastic interior?? Like those BP LRT white plastic interior?? I like them!!! One thing for sure is that they wont choose the Citaros.. The only suitable Merdz that they could buy is the O500s.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:And yes, i do want to see Mercs! And the O500s, like the OC 500 LF, aren't even EuroIV yet, their engine cant have Bluetec technology yet. The german website of the OC 500 LF indicates that they aren't EuroIV yet, only EuroIII, so maybe SMRT will choose the Scania K230UB or otherwise the japanese chassis.Originally posted by sBs_boy:One thing for sure is that they wont choose the Citaros.. I know abt that, alot of people say SC Auto is Soon ChowOriginally posted by Scania:No website for Soon Chow, very exprienced bus building company. IMO, looks much more better than SC Auto (SC Auto is NOT Soon Chow) or Liannex.
Soon Chow does not distribute bus chassis like Liannex or SC Auto, which distributes Isuzu chassis and fit them with their own body. Soon Chow does bodying to customer's requests only.
If you have took one of the DDs (not Open Top DD) partly designed by them, you'll know what I mean. BPLRT aint very plastic, at least some parts have metal.
The german website indeed. We are talking about the OC500LEs, not the OC500LFs.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:And the O500s, like the OC 500 LF, aren't even EuroIV yet, their engine cant have Bluetec technology yet.
