The Merc O405 is the best example. Its the most "true" citybus i've ever seen, after the B9TL(tho it looks kinda like MS coaches). SMRT's O405 are really true citybuses. Always see the CAC/OAC Merc on 922, stop opp Fajar shopping. It then accelerates very quickly. SBST O405 also not bad, except for its jerking "slip-gear" gearbox.Originally posted by carbikebus:Simple reasons...
Tight schedules eg S25 Bedok to Eunos Link about 22mins/S854 about 16 mins
SMRT buses acceleration is superb due to low profile tyres and true citybus features.Almost all the SL in the fleet runner so other have to followsuit. But nowadays it's a bit rare to see SL chiong like mad due to IBOS(SBST AVMS,Tracking system),But certain services we do see SL chiong.
Exactly, even the passengers find it hard to stand up when the BC brakes very hard, let alone a hard crash.Originally posted by sbst275:I think those standing esp might be flunked out from the bus as well
not if you hold on the to bars.Originally posted by sbst275:I think those standing esp might be flunked out from the bus as well
Seriously no useOriginally posted by XTransbus:not if you hold on the to bars.
No use. I tell u, one person had held onto the bars, but the BC (TIB1182J) braked so hard that he was pushed forward and was pushed against the group of people infront, since it was very packed at that time.Originally posted by XTransbus:not if you hold on the to bars.
It's the impactOriginally posted by XTransbus:it reduces the chances of the passenger to be flung foward. Even if BC brake hard, you hold on to the bars, you might be thrown foward but not as serious as you're not holding them; you can fall and roll foward or maybe thrown against the windshield .
LOL!! nice one.Originally posted by wonderamazement:Because SBS bus got lesser accidents.
