Buses To Be Scrapped Soon

1. I heard that the lifespan for all SBS Transit buses have been extended from 17 years to 19 years. Is this true? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.
2. SBS 1701E to SBS 1710D will be scrapped starting 10 June 2007. The last day of operation for these buses is 9 June 2007. For the last two Scania N113CRB CAC, SBS 3721J and SBS 3722G, the last day of operation will be on 6 May 2009. Is this true? -
They've alrdy been extended to 19 years but no announcement
Nvm... It shows SBS making empty promises, recently say 17 years... Ask their fellows to take the MK2

The O405s are not given a 2 year extension, as far as I know. They would be withdrawn between 2007-09. SBS 82P lifespan expiry is 01 July 2007!

Since SMRT has put up a tender for 66 new 12m buses, it looks like these will be the ones to replace the UD. The lifespan for public buses is still at 17 years. SBST got permission from the LTA for a 2 year extension because of insufficient new buses to replace the outgoing ones. This could be because of the the new ruling which requires all new buses to be Euro IV compliant. -

Er... Scanias, Mk IIs & MB 0405 scrap... SBST no need run liao... MB0405 - 700 buses... Scanias - 200 buses, mark IIs - 200 buses some scrap alr... looks like SBST has gotta buy at least 1000 buses... with next in line mark IIIs... SBST fleet all old old one

Many of the svs I believe the current loading can be like 80% which means abt 70 passengers which is just nice.

Many of the svs I believe the current loading can be like 80% which means abt 70 passengers which is just nice.

For like 145, I believe have to strengthen the fleet when these new gen of buses comes in -
In fact the replacements for the *LO2x by the B9TLs* is overdue.
SBS Transit may not buy exactly 1000 buses to replace outgoing buses, but LESS, because of certain route rationalisation to come for each MRT line that opens, be it major or minor rationalisation.

I just cannot wait for Mark II , Mercedes 0405 and scania n113crb to be replaced . I have enjoyed the mark II and mercedes O405 (CAC especially) very much , will definately missed them once they are gone. As for Scanias ? dont talk about it. Faster they go the better. -
Dun worry,Progressively they will be replaced by new generation Volvo B9L,Scania K230UB,MB Citaro new version and Euro V Volvo B9TLs.Dun left out Euro-spec Korean,Chinese or Japanese zero step city buses as well

That's right. The Mk-II, N113 and O405 will not be withdrawn one shot. Fleet replacement will be be done progressively over 2-3 years. And since we have a long list of buses waiting to be replaced, we can expect to see more new buses coming in for the next 5 years at least. There's no cause for alarm. SBS have gone through this phase before during the late-80s & mid-90s when these buses were brought in to replace the old fleet from the 1970s.

Not good meh?Hmmm,,,,, I like the O405 as well, but only for OAC models, not CAC, cause CAC abit gloomy(PS: I like bright interiors, which may be a reason why i dont like the Volvo MKIIIs). MKIIs not too sure, seldom take them. 
Sad, alot of our favourite buses are going to go soon. Lucky for SMRT, its fleet are quite new. -
Can somebody inform me that when did the LTA changed the 12 yrs rule to 15 yrs, and 15yrs to 17 yrs..
