the fomer....bar...cos i nv actually physically seen any smrt bc on sbs bus/nel or vice versaOriginally posted by SMRT Buses:Yup, I've also encountered the same situation like the one you've mentioned whereby BCs of same svc but travelling in oppsite directions at certain point of the route would wave or gesture to each other as sign of greeting. Another point I would like to add is that some BCs might even horn to attact the attention of the BC of the same svc in the opposite directions just to wave.
For your question regarding if i've seen a eg. SMRT bc on SBS bus b4 or vice versa? I don't actually quite get what you mean, is it you trying to say an SMRT BC onboard a SBS Bus on his/her way home or is it an SMRT BC driving a SBS Bus?

i have set up this topic as when i observed during my bus trips BCs of same svc but travelling in oppsite directions at certain point of the route would wave or gesture to each other as sign of greeting...but sometimes in situation whereby the two BCs concerned are from different depot they would not greet.....and needless to say BCs from same company but completely different svcs or depot would not greet each other of cos....cos i see this pattern interesting therefore i posted this one up. any similar situation u guys encountered. another thing have u seen a eg. SMRT bc on SBS bus b4 or vice versa?thats what i stated in bold...hahaha...of course i cant expect every single one of them to know each other esp different depots...btw how many BCs are allocated to one depot?[/quote]
i noe...but this one gives me the kind of feeling where say soldiers from two warring country greet each other where as smrtb and sbst bcs are soldiers from both camps....a good example would be in ww2 where american soldiers have meet up with soviet soldiers after divding nazi germany into two....not only the soldiers from the two ideologically different country did not shy away from each other they went as far as went partying together during the night....feel so delightful....how nice it would be if everytihing would be one entity....Originally posted by hisoka:basically you greet pple you know or friends right?![]()

yeah so heartening to hear that among the bus driving industry despite the tough environment they are in (the mental stress, not to forget physical of course) there's sorta sense of camaraide/bond going around between them....yeah...time to put my personal input oso.....often saw 63 BCs travelling opposite directions waving at each other merc to merc bus....for merc to strider bus hmm....very seldom...maybe cos they different depot bar.....Originally posted by SBS9806J:Actually, just now when I took SBS2645C (HGDEP 132) the BC and the BC of SBS2995S (SLBP 143) did hand signals to each other!
And I have seen two SMRT BCs on an MK3 talking to the SBST BC at Bukit Merah Int. All the other BC were looking at them

Not really true. Svc. 900 BCs wave to the other 900 BCs, but they don't ever wave to any 962/912/913/964/858/965/969/911/901 BCs. And its not always everytime when Svc. 900 BCs wave to each other (might be the possibility of 901 BCs mixing up with 900 BCs)Originally posted by kengkia:conclusion : same svc same depot comfirm greet
same svc but different depot 50-50
different svc but same depot comfirm also greet(eg. a svc 32 BC
wave at a 33 BC regardless they travelling opposite or parallel)
different depot , different svc...obviosly right![]()
for point hightlighted in red...hmmm..maybe the both side BCs are from AMDEP?cos there are sbs and smrt depots collectively at AMDEP what..
Some look out for the BC, if don't know them, they'll ignore, if know them, they'll waveOriginally posted by choww:Seen before sv93 BC and sv163 BC wave to each other and btw some of the BC driving the same service may not wave to each other as well.
Yeah, if you take 179, you'll see the some of the 179 drivers waving to the NTU shuttle bus drivers!Originally posted by brotherchen1982:Ever those Malls' Shuttle Bus drivers also waved at SBST/SMRT BC.
