This reminds me of a similar incident! Somewhere end of last year, one of the pro 179 BC was driving a DD on svc 199. He managed to catch up with a 199 SD in front at the same junction. At the traffic light, the 179 BC point to the shortcut way with a confused look because the SD was turning right. BTW, off-topic! Why I am seeing more and more buses taking the long cut instead of the shortcut to BNL Int!! secondly for just now i was taking 63 on the very same bus same rego as i took last night towards national lib when the bus stopped beside svc 16 on traffic junction before exiting tiong bahru rd and svc 16 turned left . both BCs actually greeted each other and doing gestures ...take note that my bus is a BRAM bus and 16's MK3 is a ARBP bus though..

Cos of that short right turn lane along Jurong West St 64 & has to wait for the bus left turned from St 64 for commuters to alight, wasted a lot of time during peak hrs so BC as well take long cut instead...Originally posted by stooper:He say svcs like 30 & 249 take long cut! Just now I saw BC on SBS 0588Y of Service 28 making eye contact with a Townlink 291 BC SBS 0813Y(suspect). Seems that they appear to be saying hi on the roads.

Honestly speaking, everything depends on human relations. We see SMRT and SBST staff greeting and chatting with each other because some of them may have already known each other long time ago. (For your information, there are former BCs from SBST in SMRTB and former SLs from SMRTB inside SBST)
Why most bus drivers from both sides dont greet each other is because well.. When you meet with strangers, wont you approach with caution even though you may want to be friendly with them? The same applies. And dont assume that they are from the same bus companies, they will be friendly with each other. Some bus drivers even though they are from the same companies dont greet each other because they may not feel pleasant being with another colleague, sometimes because of off-the-job reasons.
It all depends on human relations. All and all.
And observe. There are different gestures that bus drivers use to communicate with each other. Not just saying hi
