Importing a Coaster from Japan??? Help please

  Does anyone know the cost of the taxes and certificates for a Toyota Coaster that I am thinking of importing from Japan...
  
  Here are some of the facts.... It was made in 1994 in Japan
  Purchace price S$20,000... I will use it as a RV Bus and travel to Malaysia and Thailand after conversion.
  
  I am having trouble deciding whether to buy locally or import..
  
  Can you help me ?

  I am retired here in Singapore .... used to be a dispatcher at Cairns Airport Aus .... So I have some connection with the transport Industry

  Hi dude , we aren't bus drivers here but some kind of our hobby into buses , mainly SBS Transit and SMRT Buses and of course not to forget private buses in Singapore.

  There are more procedures you have to go through if you import.

  U might have to go thru LTA if u are thinking of modifying the vehicle....

  Erm do you own a company? I remember someone saying that minibuses and vans cant be used for personal usage. Somemore driving that bus to M'sia requires alot of paperwork or permits, cant rmbr well.

  i think now the most important point is that all diesel engine vehicle have to be EURO V. So if that vehicle is make in 1994, then i dun think you are able to get it to singapore and registered here cos it is not possible that it is EURO V compliant.

  toyota coaster have euro 4 but u need to apply for permit to go into malaysia

  No... I want to go and check them out..... I will be investing a lot of my money in the conversion of this bus to my motor home , I want to be sure that they will do it well.... Thanks for your info though....
