Yes, the info of the rego is from me, or rather my dad instead because according to him who witnessed the incident because it happened right in front of his workplace at Tuas, he said that the condition of the bus is so bad to the extend that there's only the metal poles and the rear portion of the bus as seen in the news left. Other things such as the steering wheel, tyres (especially the rear ones because it started off from there with smokes), and roof are all gone. Maybe MS can let us know more details of it after investigations and checks. =)Originally posted by SBS1985C:Rego is:
SBS72?3? Sure GONE CASE. (Info By someone)
What is SLBP doing? MS may please tell us what happen and will the bus be scrapped or will SLBP try to repair it?
I do not think it will be repaired. so RIP.![]()

If you look properly at all (or maybe most) of SBST bus stop plates, you should be able to see the outline too!Originally posted by Rooky:didn't notice until u mention it![]()
Yeah , Quite trueOriginally posted by stooper:If you look properly at all (or maybe most) of SBST bus stop plates, you should be able to see it too!
When they changed the name from SBS to SBST, they just pasted a purple sticker on top of the plate to state the bus stop name.
Some bus stops have the sticker peeling off, showing what the original plate looked liked.
I suspect it's 7253S. I see it every weekend.Originally posted by TWS4793:The following could be suspected:

SBS 7263M (249 SLBP)
SBS 7273J (249 SLBP)
SBS 7283E (254 SLBP)
SBS 7293B (154 SLBP)
Please help check tomorrow which one is the odd one out. Thanks.
Also, it may be due to excessive wear and tear caused by friction between the road and the tyres. They may get too hot and a fire may result.Originally posted by Donavan:If it's originating from the tyre, it should be due to electrostatics, where excess charges build up and yeah, opposite charges get induced by the metal body. Sparks are produced due to the charges, which may well, burn the bus. No complicated explanation for you people out there regarding electrostatics.(this is a guess)
To a more proper explanation a PM would be advisable. This is a layman explanation.
Ask SBS Transit to let you into the depot.Originally posted by Rooky:can i go to soon lee to see the burnt bus?![]()
Are you sure it's the bus? Did you see it on Service 182 every weekend?Originally posted by stooper:I suspect it's 7253S. I see it every weekend.
But I think you'll have to wait till Monday to confirm which bus disappear lah... Sunday JIS svc don't use all the buses and many buses will be lying around in the depot.
But even then, 154 won't use all the VO2x...
Its not easy as you think , tsk tskOriginally posted by TWS4793:Ask SBS Transit to let you into the depot.
Erm i rmbr that uneven wear can also result in overheating and fires. For e.g. , the tyre may have a "toe-ed in or out" position , resulting in uneven wear and overheating and eventually catches fire.Originally posted by Donavan:If it's originating from the tyre, it should be due to electrostatics, where excess charges build up and yeah, opposite charges get induced by the metal body. I would think Donavan's answer seems more suitable, you can see that oil tankers have metal chains dragging from the truck to the road, the purpose is to earth the positve charges and neutralize the charges.Originally posted by TWS4793:Also, it may be due to excessive wear and tear caused by friction between the road and the tyres. Eh yes, my weakest topic in Physics. Everything from Magnetism to Static in the Sec 4 Physics textbook seems difficult for me.Originally posted by Donavan:If it's originating from the tyre, it should be due to electrostatics, where excess charges build up and yeah, opposite charges get induced by the metal body. Have you seen real tyre fires before? I mean those truck tyres, not those car tyres. I've seen one in Malaysia, and im quite traumatized by it, im not joking..Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:You know, I am going to get nightmares tonight just looking at that burning bus. I can never put up with SBS Transit buses even being damaged, let alone...
