Lifespan Expiry Date for the Mark IIs

Mark IIIs are good IMO.A little underpowered compared to Hispano but i find the gearbox good(esp the 1st gear) and has more power on lower rpm to the latter.
Hispano need to hit the past 2k rpm then its fast,otherwise no power.
One thing that bothers me on 170 that most of the instrumental dash gauges are out of order,as expected on an old bus. -

Actually , the Merc (SMRT) are a tad faster in acceleration as compared to the MK3s . Top speed i cant say much .

Sigh... 2007 is proving to be a bad year for Singaporean bus fans...
First, CSS is gone suddenly, then SBS 81S is gone, now the MK IIs are starting to retire...
I really hope SBS Transit can start saving some of their equipment for preservation, like what some other countries do, instead of just simply scrapping them...
And to think 2006 started off so well - new CNG B10BLEs, new route 85 right at the start, new B9TLs, slew of new routes and route enhancements, etc... -

Well, the first 10 CACs of the Volvo B10M Mark II have ran their last day and have retired to the depots and are ready to face scrapping. The laid up ones are most likely to be sold off.
