No, the laid up ones are the ones depots don't wish to maintains, Lo2x also laid up and then scrapped, laid up buses are then used for parts or kept for "in-case" situations whereby a depot really need buses, so far only one bus which was meant to be permanently laid up managed to escape scrapping from its "laid up" state, 3580Z is the bus.Originally posted by tintinspartan:Well, the first 10 CACs of the Volvo B10M Mark II have ran their last day and have retired to the depots and are ready to face scrapping. I dont think the steel and other scrap metal will all land up in the landfill . Only those wood , seats and plastics might end up there . Think the steel will be sold to steel mills and melted down , then mixed with "pig" iron to form a 'new' steel . Saw this on Discovery Channel of "How Do they do It" ? Use your brain and think. SBS have money to replace them all. The B9TLs are replacing the B10M Mark IIs and The new Scanias are replacing part of the old Scanias.
