Not sure about SBS Transit, but SMRT's corporate font is FF Meta.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I guess many of you are wondering what are the exact fonts used by SBS Transit for their newer destos. Well, using http://www.identifont.com, I can now say what font SBS Transit used: a commercial font named FF Meta.
The font is a payware font, meaning you have to pay to download and use this font.
Some thanks to TWS4793 for his photographs of SBS Transit destos, which I used to identify the font.
Like the 143 desto I shot outside People's Park Complex and the picture of SBS 9044R on Service 143-just look at the desto will do.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I guess many of you are wondering what are the exact fonts used by SBS Transit for their newer destos. Maybe someone buy the font, then upload for us so we can d/l for free?Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:is there any site that has this font for free ?![]()
Well, it's not unusual for commercial companies to spend literally a ton of money just on fonts, especially when it forms part of the image or branding for the company. In the case of SBS Transit, I would consider destos to be part of their image, seeing how visible they are to the public. Of course, they must strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality in this case, and I think FF Meta was a good choice - not too plain, and the numbers are easy to read.Originally posted by ngjy22:They sure spend a lot of money (to us, to them maybe is nothing) to make the destos!
This is actually considered illegal you know - I have seen it happen before on other forums, and while they were not sued, they were told to remove the fonts by the forum administrators and moderators - or else.Originally posted by my@jas:Maybe someone buy the font, then upload for us so we can d/l for free?
Are u willing to be the person whom would sacrifise for us![]()

And yes, you are welcome! Feel free to visit my bus gallery either at http://sbs9199c.fotopic.net, http://sbs9199c.myphotoalbum.com or http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r34/TWS4793/. A new one, on my bus website (http://www.geocities.com/sbs7363h/index.html), is still underway. Expected completion date is somewhere during the first half of the year.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:I guess many of you are wondering what are the exact fonts used by SBS Transit for their newer destos.
