for our info, 26, 35 and 186 have Double Decker before. for 32, 33, 38 and 54 i dunnoOriginally posted by swee_heng:Btw wat i think is that 26 , 32 , 33 , 35 , 38 , 54 , 101 , 186 should have no problem using DDs , but why they dun have DD? I knew that 26 used to have DDs if i'm not wrong.
Sv 186 used to use dd bef, but I think they killed the service with NAC buses that's whyOriginally posted by swee_heng:Btw wat i think is that 26 , 32 , 33 , 35 , 38 , 54 , 101 , 186 should have no problem using DDs , but why they dun have DD? I knew that 26 used to have DDs if i'm not wrong.
I think 26 , 35 & 186 stopped using DDs when the VO2X were transferred to SLBP , am i right?Originally posted by sbst275:Sv 186 used to use dd bef, but I think they killed the service with NAC buses that's why
Sv 26, 35 used to use dd as well
Sv 26 stopped using DD way bef that I supposeOriginally posted by swee_heng:I think 26 , 35 & 186 stopped using DDs when the VO2X were transferred to SLBP , am i right?
Sv 26 used to be operated by HGdepot and during the time when svc 26 were operating Mercedes O305 and at that time, a few of the new Volvo 3 axles 95XX series ( were deployed on the service. After the mercedes O305 were retired, the VO 3 axles stayed on svc 26 until the service together with 25 were transferred to AMKdepot (at the same time, SBST took over Sengkang and Punggol area). Initially AMKdepot deployed LO 3 axles on 26 for a few weeks before the DDs were removed and since then it's been operating mercedes buses.Originally posted by sbst275:Sv 26 stopped using DD way bef that I suppose
Sounds like its the case for 86. hgdep provided about half the fleet as DD but after amdep took over. Most of the DDs were removed and its majority mercedes buses now.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Initially AMKdepot deployed LO 3 axles on 26 for a few weeks before the DDs were removed and since then it's been operating mercedes buses.
Dunno why...Originally posted by 105090:those services with that one or two DD..
like 64 86 119 136.. all can actually operate at poor frequencies and do without DD and are doing fine..
The part from Geylang Lor 1 to Bedok fully duplicate with sv2..And i dun think 101 can use dd due to the looping point..Originally posted by kengkia:for 26 maybe the demand is not there considering the short route and it's used mainly for travelling direct from TPY to bedok , or from TPY to geylang or bedok to geylang or else there's not much demand for it.....yes... 186 do have DD before on VO2x.....same thing due to low demand lor....then now use SD
then shorten 26 to geylang fringe lor...Originally posted by choww:The part from Geylang Lor 1 to Bedok fully duplicate with sv2..And i dun think 101 can use dd due to the looping point..

325 and 372 dont need DDs my dear boy.. The SDs in the fleet is enough to cover the demand..Originally posted by bus555:How about feeder services like 225, 243, 262, 269, 282, 325 and 372![]()
Ah! Feeder Service 225 I know most. The reason why 225 cannot use DD's is because there are relatively narrow roads (two lanes only) and sharp bends at Bedok North Street 3.Originally posted by bus555:How about feeder services like 225, 243, 262, 269, 282, 325 and 372![]()
I agree. Height restrictions and moderate loadings are the key fators for a DD not being used. Turning wise, a DD is just as good as a SD. If a normal SD can make it, a DD can too. 61 is a good example because during SBS times it had DDs, ADDs even, turning into that narrow stretch of road.Originally posted by 105090:why cant DD be used on tight corners? 61 bendies, so long, also can turn at commonwealth
DD is more of height restrictions..
famously stadium and lor chuan
the word is DEMAND, not popularity. It may know all of the bus routes in Singapore but I dont take all of them.Originally posted by TWS4793:Ah! Feeder Service 225 I know most. 372 I suspect is because of not too much popularity.
Something different from this question. Service 68 cannot use DD's due to low popularity, although it's the only service to the industries in Tampines. Recently, Darts have begun to do cameo on 68 for AM and PM Peak hour.
ya. should get those NAC buses to do 63 or 64. Then give 74 or 151 the DDs or AC buses.Originally posted by sbst275:Dunno why...
They prefer to torture ppl studying at Clementi area onboard NAC buses onboard Sv 74 and 151 and wanna pamper short distance passengers with aircon thrill
You want ADD thrill si boh?Originally posted by bus555:How about feeder services like 225, 243, 262, 269, 282, 325 and 372![]()
I think since they serve the CBD area, NAC buses should be avoidedOriginally posted by swee_heng:ya. should get those NAC buses to do 63 or 64. Then give 74 or 151 the DDs or AC buses.
If there ever was, let's say you board from Interchange, go to upper deck, 5 minutes have to come down alreadyOriginally posted by bus555:How about feeder services like 225, 243, 262, 269, 282, 325 and 372![]()
True,Your Fav Leyland & Mercedes DDs are one good examples on 61 last time.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:I agree.
