With those small trolleys & ppl carry many items, many would rather wait to alight at lower deck.
But after LO2xs retired, DDs are deploy on those high riderships services(e.g 174) & Service 181 to help out at Geh Pok area if not you can see LO/VO3xs on 243 now.
If you notice NOW, two 243G/W buses always arrive almost together at certain point of the route, with 1 full & 1 empty, so DDs may not be necessary. -

a lot of pax take it & alight at Jurong East/West Ave 1 as an alternative to Service 98/99 along Service 334 route to save time & $$$ & let those who wanted to go to Jurong West St 42 have to wait for another bus.

98 : Passes by a lot of bus stops/traffic lights bef reaching Jurong East Ave 1(Parc Oasis)
99 : Need to walk out to bus stop os Jurong East Int to board -

Not all the bus services will get DDs simply due to the demand factor, heights, etc etc. Dont think that bus services should get DDs for the sake of doing so. It is very apparent that 3 bypasses narrow roads, 19 already has DDs, 40, 82, 101 has low demand, hence totally no need for DDs. 186 is i think due to long frequency and i think not many people take 186 thats why.
