Hmm..the Leyland Olympians uses Cummins engine..and I think it sounds great as compared to the Volvo's engine! LOL..the Volvo's engine sounds like a vacuum cleaner..the Cummins sound better..And it's true that to meet Euro III emissions standards, power must be sacrificed for better emissions..but newer engines have particulate filters to filter away the soot and most of the poisonous gases, thus not much things are needed to be done to the engine to meet strict emissions standard..just stuff a particulate filter at the exhaust and there you have a cleaner exhaust..One thing I realised about the LO3x though..they seem to have the smell of diesel inside the bus..lol..

lesser emission doesnt mean less power... lesser emission also doesnt mean the usage of particulate filter... there are other means like better combustion and such...

Another difference I have noticed when comparign Batch 1 VO3x and LO3x is that the LO3x upper deck front windscreen seems to be slightly smaller.
For the VO3x, the bottom of the upper deck wrap around windscreen is aligned with the side windows.
For LO3x, the bottom of the upper deck windscreen is slightly higher than the bottom of the side windows.
So from the front at far, for a Batch 1 VO3x, you can see a silver handlebar at the bottom of the front windscreen, but you won't be able to see the handlebar sticking out for a LO3x. -
Yes, it's true that one can get better emissions by making the engine combust better, but to make it combust better, u have to sacrifice power..that's a fact no one can change..Just like a Honda's VTEC engine..there's 2 configuration, one for applications in family saloons, and one for it's screaming Type-R models..for the family saloons, the VTEC is tuned to give better fuel comsumption, thus low horsepower..but in the Type-R models, it tuned for all out power, thus the lousy fuel comsumption but amazing horsepower for a small engine..Originally posted by SBS9828X:lesser emission doesnt mean less power... lesser emission also doesnt mean the usage of particulate filter... there are other means like better combustion and such...
