Psst psst sound

  yesterday, when i was sitting on sv154 to school, around 6.30am, the bus that i was sitting on, (a vo2x) seem to have a problem, while moving at higher speeds >30 to40, it seem to make a pisst pisst sound (back wheels), all the way, and the ride was jerky and the braking was too, very jerky and hard?
  
  what's the prob with the bus?

  Yeah, The bus is 7240D.
  
  I noticed the problem 3 days ago, when it was cameoing on 192.
  
  It made psst psst sounds at low speeds too, especially when accelerating and braking. I dunno what causes it though.

  Guess the bus couldn't hold on to its fart..just have to let it out..must have eaten something wrong..dirty diesel maybe..hmmm..

  That one is the gearbox retarder sound i guess? Seems to be coming from the gearbox, not brakes. Otherwise should be the sound of the air suspension. Hope this info is correct.

  Hmmm....how come some Mercs got psst psst sound but some dont have? Most have it, but some dont ... Strange eh? Confirm not brakes, cuz brakes if sound like that oredi got big prob liao...
  
  Speaking of brakes, has anyone here encountered a bus whereby the bus keeps having low air in its air tank or reservoir? I've encountered once before while on a VO3x.... then when the air is low ... a beeping alarm sounds .....BC then switches to N and floor the accelerator, thus charging the air tank ....

  This thing happen every day lah... Not only on VO3x. I see before on LO3x, MK2, etc... Even SMRT buses also...

  Alot buses have this beeping sound sometimes..

  MKIV DM3500 some of them, when the doors are opened then it sounds...SMRTs are speed limiter....if you are lucky, you might get onto a OAC Hispano merc on 171 dat have this beeper speed limiter.

  Some Striders also have beeping sound (e.g. SBS1967E). But the loudest beeping sound is B9TLs. Turning signal, door open, always have sound. Sometimes can be a bit irritating

  psst psst is becoz buses r using air brakes
  stepping or releasing pedal cause air to escape/trapped
