But releasing of brakes shouldnt sound like psst psst...instead it should sound like shhh shhhh.....take the LRT(bukit Panjang) and O405s for example. Try taking a bendy bus (Habit esp).... stand at the front of the bus...when the BC releases the brakes it sounds shhh shhh to me, instead of psst psst leh.Originally posted by menoob:psst psst is becoz buses r using air brakes

doubt so, reason? read my topic, cause driver i dont think is stepping on any brakes, just acc, then lyke that, the bus ride is unstable and jerkyOriginally posted by menoob:psst psst is becoz buses r using air brakes

Yeah, might be an air leakage somewhere. But there's no psst sound when the bus is stopped. It only happens when it's moving.Originally posted by alleggerita:We won't know what causes the psst psst sound unless we ask the mechanics..haha..but there aren't much possible causes except the gearbox or the brakes..but i have this gut feeling that it's the brakes that cause this psst psst sound..the driver need not step on the brakes to make that sound, it might be a problem with the brakes that it releases air even though the brakes are not used..but best to ask the mechanics..lol..![]()
