If you go to your Control Panel (those who uses Win XP), you can select 'speech' and you may want to make the pronounciation same and letter different or different meaning. "Ass-and-mati" reads quite same as SMRT, Ass-M Mati.
"Ass-M-Mati" can actually means:
English + Malay: Backside die (ignore the M).
English + Chinese: Backside clean the floor (Ass Ma di, ignore the M too).
"Ass and Mati" can be:
Backside and die (Maybe backside that dies?)
Wanna make fun of the name, don't go too far, later if SMRT lover/someone who is angry etc go inform SMRT, then, I don't know what will happen.[/b] -

I refer to the letter, "Withdrawing service 608 will hurt commuters" (March 6) by Koh Chin Chye.

City Shuttle Service was first introduced in 1975 as part of the "Park and Ride" Scheme and is a non-basic supplementary bus service with lower fares, as compared to a trunk service. Over the years, this service has been duplicated by many alternative bus services, which cover similar sections of the route.
.
Over the past few years, ridership of Service 608 has also declined considerably. Coupled with low fares and the availability of alternative bus services, this has affected the viability of operating Service 608.
.
While we understand passengers' concerns on the withdrawal of this service, we are also mindful of having to optimise resources based on passenger demand.
.
With regard to the travel options for residents of Havelock Road, they could consider alternative bus services, such as Services 51, 64 and 186 outside Ganges Centre and opposite Block 79 along Ganges Avenue, or Services 14, 32, 64, and 65 outside Block 48 along Lower Delta Road.

I'll miss them... CSS 3 for being the only service in its days to serve People's Park (OG) side of Chinatown from Orchard Rd. Return trip there's all along Sv 143 as well. Needless to say the narrow Chancery Lane
CSS 5 for those bus plates at Sin Ming/ Upp Thomson... Those do not have SSB logo
CSS 8 being SSB's 'wang pai' routes
If my memory does not fail me, SSB was the first to have bus stop guides placed onboard the bus -

I also remember that CSS issued a phamplet in 2000 on their 25 years of service. I still have it but I am not sure where I chucked this phamplet now. -
CSS608 supposedly last day is 28/4/2007 and yet SMRT has already taken down the svc plates at Marine Crescent. SAD
