Whacking of seats on the bus

today i saw 2 females (both friends) sitting facing each other and chatting... after one passenger, who was previously sitting beside one of the females, left... one of the females asked her friend to sit beside, but after seeing that the seat was still 'hot", the friends remained at her original seat and said she will change later... just then while they are still chatting, one lady boarded the bus and sat beside the female... then they both gave a weird expression... not sure what it means either...
