I think you have not sat in 2 MKII NAC for 2 consecutive rides at blistering temperature at 1hr per ride. It certainly was not enjoyable. So.......you telling me 74 and 151 not crowded? Spare a thought for me, even though it was a one-off affair.Originally posted by eX.A.K.R.:Don't be selfish - spare a thought for those who are going to commute on those feeder routes, which can get crowded at times.
I guess we Singaporeans are just too pampered with the air-conditioner, or we are just refusing to accept the reality that we are in a tropical climate and is trying to challenge Mother Nature by jacking down our air-conditioners to 18C or even 16C and pretending that we are in some bleak European winter, just as what someone who wrote to the Straits Times forum wrote. When will we realise that this is just simply contributing to global warming, and thus making ourselves hotter? Sigh...![]()

[b]NAC buses that were over 20 years old are still used in small towns/kampongs in Malaysia too. Pictures below is a kind of old NAC buses still used...
i still remember the time when svc 199 was converted to PAC. Guess what - the Student Union at NTU protested strongly against the deployment of AC buses!Originally posted by lemon1974:nowadays think people are too pampered alrd..
last time all buses are NAC, also no one complain..
i just came back from Sri Lanka. Their buses are almost 95 % NAC. and most of them are those old old types (Leyland Ashok / Tata).. Their AC buses are those smaller buses, which look like second hand buses which are imported from dunno where.
Still saw those Leyland Ashok/Tata buses with their gears are those long long types and their engine just beside the driver seat. Like those old old SD that SBS used to have..
Swop service 115's MK4 with one of the NAC MK2s from service 151Originally posted by SBS3688Y:btw, i think its a waste to deploy a MK4 on svc 115. should exchange for a NAC MK 2 instead.
LOL. When was that? Were they using NAC MK2s before the conversion to PAC?Originally posted by SBS3688Y:i still remember the time when svc 199 was converted to PAC.
Can't remember when but I think LO2x and NAC (now CAC) MB0405s were used. Volvo MK2 NACs came into JRBP (now SLDEP) after all NAC MB0405s were converted to aircon.Originally posted by stooper:LOL. When was that? Were they using NAC MK2s before the conversion to PAC?
NONONO. Try taking it ard 5pm... =]Originally posted by choww:Ya..Try taking 93 NAC during afternoon..
Actually Sv 115 used to have SBS1794L, then go and swap with SBS884S. Dunno why. Still got a picture of SBS1794L in its NAC days on 84Originally posted by TIB1018B:Swop service 115's MK4 with one of the NAC MK2s from service 151![]()

EVERY MORNING DAMN PEK CEK
TRANISLAND AIRCON
Treasure my arse. They charge air con fares for non-air con buses so those NAC buses should be scrapped asap!Originally posted by TWS4793:Most of us are too comfortable with airconed buses.
I may be one of them, but I still take NACs sometimes. Two reasons:
1. Service 225 used to be NAC service last time. I remember saying this last time that I detest taking airconed buses because they could chill me until I became ice (that was my thinking when I was seven).
2. NACs are going to be scrapped soon! Treasure them before they are gone.
So why complain?
If i remembered correctly, they were not complaining about the fact that the buses became air conditioned. They are complaining about the single deck air con buses replacing the double deck non aircon leyland buses.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:i still remember the time when svc 199 was converted to PAC. and several years down the road - people are complaining about the existence of NAC buses.
At least SBST now deploy LO3x on service 199.Originally posted by MingFreeman:If i remembered correctly, they were not complaining about the fact that the buses became air conditioned. They are complaining about the single deck air con buses replacing the double deck non aircon leyland buses.
Its more of a single deck vs double deck issue. And its not hard to see why.
Now become VO3x alreadyOriginally posted by TIB1018B:At least SBST now deploy LO3x on service 199.
