Eh...Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was the Scania L94UBs that were going to be introduced soon, so that's why I also asked something on SBS 2888T.Originally posted by SBS9816E:Excuse me... Scania L94UB is not available in the market anymore. How in the world that a bus company can purchase Scania L94UB? It's also NOT a new model as well...
Anyway, it's not surprising that SBS Transit brings in new buses, since older buses are phasing out soon.
Oh my god. It's OBVIOUS that you have not done your research properly. SBS2888T is a Scania L94UB 4x2.Originally posted by TWS4793:Eh...Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was the Scania L94UBs that were going to be introduced soon, so that's why I also asked something on SBS 2888T.
Anyway, the new Scanias may be wheelchair accessible too.
Errr.. I thought all new buses introduced now must be Euro 4 compliant and WABs?Originally posted by TWS4793:Eh...Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was the Scania L94UBs that were going to be introduced soon, so that's why I also asked something on SBS 2888T.

SBS will replace old Night Safari buses
Letter from Tammy Tan
Director, Corporate Communications,
SBS Transit Ltd
We refer to the letter by Mr David Khoo, "Good safari, bad bus links" (March 27).
We apologise to the writer for the discomfort and inconvenience experienced on this occasion where the air-conditioning on board was down. The Bus Captain was unaware of this as he had felt some air blowing out from the vents and the buzzer did not light up to indicate any malfunctioning.
We have since reminded him to strictly follow procedures by checking the coolness of the air-conditioning prior to the trip. He has also been counselled to comply with Standard Procedures in politely handling incidents involving the breakdown of air-conditioning while the bus is on service. On the bus arrival time, our records, which are based on satellite tracking, show that Service 138 arrived on schedule - which is an interval of 14 minutes.
And finally, we thank Mr Khoo for his feedback on the age of some of the buses plying the Night Safari route. We are in the process of purchasing new ones to replace old ones and will deploy them to Service 138 as appropriate.
FYI...The L94 are replaced by the EuroIV compliant K95s series. Im not sure if there is a L95 .Originally posted by TWS4793:Eh...Thanks for the reminder. I thought it was the Scania L94UBs that were going to be introduced soon, so that's why I also asked something on SBS 2888T.

Have you ever heard of friendly BC? Some 65 BC's will talk to you automaticallyOriginally posted by lemon1974:and to TWS4793, i dun think it is approriate to speak to driver, when he is driving. I think SBST have reply before that driver are not supposed to be involved with conversation with passengers/other BC while driving..
I think SBST will buy all in the future. And I like both because:Originally posted by chickenlittle2:I think buy mercz beter than buying Scania. Even Volvo would be Gd!!
driving needs a lot of attention and alertness..Originally posted by SBS9806J:Have you ever heard of friendly BC? Some 65 BC's will talk to you automatically
ooh ---- There is this driver on 1183G. He talks to kids or anyone who boards on the bus!Originally posted by SBS9806J:Have you ever heard of friendly BC? Some 65 BC's will talk to you automatically
i think more likely MK4s on 138 thaan Mk3s , unless HGDEP , BNDEP & ARBP wants to transfer them , if Mk3 maybe 691G after its lay up expiry coz i nv see it parking at BBDEP recently , so it could be transferred to other depots before going on lay up.Originally posted by lemon1974:i think SV 138 will not get to use those new buses..
SV 138 will be using those MK III/ IV after MBO405 were scrapped, while other more popular services will be getting priority to those new buses instead..
and to TWS4793, i dun think it is approriate to speak to driver, when he is driving. I think SBST have reply before that driver are not supposed to be involved with conversation with passengers/other BC while driving..
One Indian 65 BC drives quite slowly. But those friendlier 65 BCs are from ARBP side, and some of them have been driving 65 for a very long time alreadyOriginally posted by 105090:driving needs a lot of attention and alertness..
although chatting is harmless, it does distract the driver.. some more bus is so big size..
so, for everyone's safety, do whats right![]()
Some PM drivers of 700A are worse . Almost all of the night trips i took on 700A is freaking slow. Driving at about 30-40km/h.Originally posted by SBS9806J:One of the 65 BCs drives quite slowly
Originally posted by swee_heng:K124IB??You think SBST would buy them for S170 huh?Use your brain before talk,Anyway some of the BC like to pretend smartass,They can also tell you SBST would buy Hino buses also.
