1000 buses over a 5 year span is alot !Originally posted by brotherchen1982:SBST to buy 100 Zero-Step SD buses to replace those old SD buses & will be deployed on trial before deciding to buy another 1000 of them over a 5 yr period.
The Zero-Step SD bus has space reserved for Wheelchairs at behind the driver cab & near the exit.

But there's 200 CRBs, 700 O405 and 300 MK3 that would retire in this 5 years...Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:1000 buses over a 5 year span is alot !![]()
I dun think they will reserved for 2 PIW area,LTA allowed only 1 PIW at a time.Hmm i forsee a huge drop in our bonuses & OTs over this yearsOriginally posted by sbst275:
The SDs will only have 28 seats... By right it's 30, but they are making 2 singles at the back for more standing space
And there'll be 2 slots for PIW, side by side
Eh... There's a seat behind the driver cab

yeah how on earth do a K230 and K310 be different. its jsut only the engine output difference.Originally posted by Powered_By_CNG:It's funny reading messages that claim that a Scania K230UB and a K310UB look "different" when, in actual fact, it is the end user (read: bus operator) that specifies how their buses should look like!
Remember guys, the K230UB, K270UB, and K310UB chassis' are exactly that - chassis'. Whatever goes on top of the chassis is the responsibility of the bus body builder.

I seldom see IrisBus products in Asia, save for the TurboCities in KL.Originally posted by Powered_By_CNG:I would personally hate to see SBST purchase from anyone other than the "big five" - EvoBus, Irisbus, Scania, M.A.N., or Volvo.
By the way, Mercedes-Benz has a new "low-entry" articulated bus chassis called the O 500 UA!

Prob is that Dennis uses Cummins engines , and theses engines are known for being hard to service and maintain. Also, i dont think AlexDennis offers a full 12m SD bus. The Enviro300 is a light bus , not a heavy bus such as the OC500LE.Originally posted by iveco:I seldom see IrisBus products in Asia, save for the TurboCities in KL.
Anyway, what's with Dennis? Aren't they also a major supplier of bus chassii?
I don't recall any complaints about the C245 engines used by the Lances. Anyone working as mechanic @ AMDEP (Tibs) wanna comment?Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Prob is that Dennis uses Cummins engines , and theses engines are known for being hard to service and maintain.
