SBS Transit launches points system to reward loyal commuters
SBS Transit is launching an island-wide "Ride & Redeem" programme to reward loyal commuters who travel on SBS buses, North East Line (NEL) trains and Sengkang or Punggol LRT.
This is the first rewards programme of its kind for public transport services.
From 1 April to 31 March 2008, commuters will be rewarded with Transit Dollars (TD) for every trip taken with SBS Transit using their ez-link cards.
Commuters can then use the Transit Dollars accumulated to redeem various goodies like free brownies, manicure services or free dishes at selected dining outlets.
Commuters can also earn Bonus Dollars (BDs) if there is a usage value increase of at least $1 as compared to the previous week.
These Bonus Dollars can be used to redeem prizes such as resort stays.
To participate in this programme, commuters will need to register their ez-link cards online at www.sbstransit.com.sg.

I'd rather they reduce fares than come up with these silly promotions.

What is Ride & Redeem?
Ride & Redeem is a programme to reward SBS Transit commuters* for every ride they take with us. Commuters get to earn Transit Dollars for every ride they take, or Bonus Dollars when at least $1 more is spent week on week.
* Transit and Bonus Dolllars will not be awarded to e-stamp concession stamp users .
How do SBS Transit's commuters participate?
Commuters who take SBS Transit's bus and rail services can simply register with us at here. Registration is free. First 2,000 registrants get to enjoy a free Mr. Bean Soya milk !

What is Transit Dollar?
Commuters who take SBS Transit bus and rail services with their ez-link card will earn Transit Dollars.
If your deducted fare* is $1.90, you will earn 1.90 TD
*Fare is net of transfer rebate given.

Note: Transit Dollars will be shown approximately 5 days later from actual deduction.
What is Bonus Dollar?
Participants will earn Bonus Dollars when they ride $1 or more weekly. You can earn up to 3 Bonus Dollars per week!

For Example:
Upon registration, participant's weekly spending will be tabulated every Sunday. In Week 1, participant will earn 0 BD.
In Week 2, participant rides $1.50 more than Week 1 and earns 1 BD.
Week 3 sees an increase of $4.50 over Week 2 and participant will earn 2 BDs.
In Week 4, participant rides $1.90 or more than Week 3, and 3 BDs is awarded. Participant will continue to earn 3 BDs if subsequent week's spending is $1 or more than the previous week.
If participant does not ride $1 or more than the previous week, 0 BD will be awarded and subsequent Bonus Dollar awarded will start from 0. See illustration:

No. Only one ez-link card number can be registered.

Can SeasonPass users participate?
Yes. However, SeasonPass users must have an ez-link card.
Why after registration, I did not received any email notification?

At least better than nothing. You can be assured that you will get something in return in the long run from the redemption for travelling with them. I am staying in a SMRT controlled territory without any SBS Transit buses. Sad to say that I will not be benefited at all to go to/from school or anywhere else from/to my home. This can be said that I am being forced to take SMRT buses and train. It is just the fact and not to say that I am aiming for the free gift.
