Service 112's MARK II
STOMPer Karen was travelling along Hougang Avenue 7 at about 1pm on 17 June when she saw the shocking scene of an SBS Transit bus with its emergency door completely ripped off. The bus was believed to have been hit by a large truck.
"We saw the truck driver alighting from his vehicle to exchange details with the bus driver and then clearing the metal pieces off the road," said Karen.
According to her, most of the passengers alighted at the bus stop to find alternative transportation.
Karen expressed concern about the safety of the passengers.
"Let's hope no one was sitting there at that (back) corner," she said.
STOMP has contacted SBS Transit and is awaiting their response.

SBS 9377 E (BB 74) overheated at B07 Hougang Ave 2, opposite Bowen Sec. Grey smoke was coming out of the rear engine cover, which the BC had opened.
Not surprising that the bus overheated; I've taken the bus several times and this BC likes to chiong. -

This can either be SBS 1757U or SBS 1887C or any cameo. I did see SBS 1820U, SBS 1850H, SBS 1868H and SBS 1884K at Hougang Interchange yesterday, so it must be any of the three buses mentioned above since they did not appear yesterday.Originally posted by Y_Shun:Service 112's MARK II

So next time when you are sitting near an emergency exit door, be more aware of your surroundings. -

And also, you must know how to operate the emergency handle whenever there is an emergency. Just like if there happens to be an emergency in an aircraft and the crew members need your assistance, then you need to operate the handle. Eh, I believe even if a person dunno how to use a bus emergency door, they could roughly figure out how to use it.
