S'poreans find public transport satisfactory: LTA survey

Eight in ten commuters said public transport services in Singapore were "satisfactory".
Of the 1,000 public transport users polled in a survey conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), 94 percent said they were satisfied by the level of train services.
Buses got a lower rating - only 77 percent said they were satisfied.
According to LTA, the main reason for this is because the trains enjoy a dedicated right of way.
It is also comparatively faster and more reliable.
91 percent said they were satisfied with the locations of train stations and bus stops.
But one thing that most were unhappy about was waiting time.
Only 68 percent said they were satisfied.
Responding to the survey, SBS Transit said it is encouraged by the survey findings and aims to improve its level of service. -
I wonder how the 1,000 commuters were selected.

selection process by the surveyor:
1) ask person what bus he waiting for
if answer given is 147 , 190, or 74 proceed
if not stop process n try again.
2) follow person onto bus at bedok int. say bus 25. aim last in queue coz he waited only 25 secs. proceed with questions
3) sit at MRT station platform . observe last comer to rush for train arriving at platform. rush into train ask this person abt train services
4) at Orchard road. bus stop has 6 buses jammed up due to traffic jam.observe that 16 36 65 14 190 n 106 in jam.
start asking ppl what svc they taking? if is bove set. proceed n follow person on bus later if need to
5) avoid crowded buses when asking questions
6) avoid long queue at int if see one (eg s72 queue)

NAC bus on long haul rts also avoid, if not ppl would ask for comfort rides...
