I'm sorry but I do not know the answer. Metro-Cammell Weymann was a combination of 2 companies; Metro-Cammell (which was also previously called Cammell-Laird, to complicate things further) and Weymann Motor Bodies. Metro-Cammel was a major concern and its products include buses, trains and even ships. The bus division of Metro-Cammell joined with Weymann and MCW was born, its initial task was to built bus bodies. Later, they began to build their own chassis as well.
Metro-Cammell produced the first HK MTR and KCR trains. These trains are still in service now, but they have been refurbished and look very different from the original design. Also, many of the trains in London Underground were made by Metro-Cammell.
In May 1989, the railway business of Metro-Cammell was sold to GEC Alsthom (now Alstom) Group. Alstom is a French company that produces trains such as TGV and Korail (South Korea's high speed line), railway signals and ships (such as Queen Mary 2). In fact, our very own North-East Line MRT trains were made by Alstom. Haha.
