The difference is in the bodywork. ELBO is a Greek company while Walter Alexander (WA) is based in Falkirk, Scotland. The ELBO bus have no AC in the beginning. That's why they have those sliding windows. The windows are sealed (technically) when the buses were converted into AC with a roof top unit. The Strider buses have AC but their AC unit an underfloor one. Due to this, the Strider buses don't have a stepless entrance. I think there is also a difference in the number of seats; the ELBO having less seats than the Strider. (I can't confirm this) -

Why is the the running sound of a SMRT o405 bus different to the running sound of a SBS Transit o405 bus?

SBST 0405 uses W3E and Voith (some of it) -

anyway i noticed the seat configurations for Scanias are different from merc and volvo.
all 3 types, the exit doors are somewhat more towards the front of the bus as compared to their DM counterparts. -

Rear tapering is for whole height of bus.

All of them have the same type of bodywork, the "PS" type. It is actually a modification of Alexander's "P" type for the Singapore market, hence the "S". It proved to be so popular that Alexander put the "PS" type into their range.Originally posted by SBS9806J:Mercedes-Benz O405

The differences you see to the bodywork is due to the chassis itself, mainly the position of the engine and its components. The Scania N113 has a vertical-transverse engine at the rear and an intercooler. So, the rear seats have to be put higher to clear them.
From the front, apart from their respective manufacturer's sysmbol, the N113 and O405 looked the same. On the B10M, however, there are openings to let the air flow into the radiator.
The uniqueness of each kind is found at the rear. Although the shape is the same, each of them have a different style of tail lights. The B10M is arranged horizontally, the N113 vertically and the O405 is made of 3 squarish shaped lights arranged in a row.
