Higher frequencies for 161 and 168

Just by looking at the long queue svc 902 has from 8am onwards you will understand it le.. I'm sure RP students like me and muziq bus will understand the situation better.. It can be damn horrible except for Wednesday. -

tell the personnel you always get packed to the door like sardines on 161 and 168 and you would prefer more frequent intervals and more Double deckers to contain the load
usually the personnel will say, we will do a survey on the ridership of the service and time period and we would put in more buses if we find that the buses on that service are receiving overwhelming number of passengers
thats what i did for sv.88 for weekends after 5pm and it worked out much better, the S157 LO3xs and more DDs were deployed during that time
and could you do me a favor and tell them about 27 too, its terrible esp during the PM peak -

Last week I saw 2 168 arriving at Woodlands compared to 1 sv 161. That's really frequent.

Could still remember that time when Courts just opened and ikea opened not long and 168's frequency was like 5 mins although most were cameo SDs. An example was about 3 of 168s arrive before 1 of 34, before 4 of 58 and on par with Sv27

The least thing SMRT Buses can do is to deploy more bendies crossover from other WRI services (2 of the current crossovers are Service 903 and 912) to Service 902 and not to let the queue stretch all the way to the far end escalator (near Service 962 berth) even with TIB1140E and TIB1107C (the bus I took this morning) being packed fully with RP students and staffs. -
That would definetely be good news for my favourite Service 168. Yesterday it did not take me long to get onto a VSO on 168-SBS 9812R
.
Today Service 168 brought in a LO3X from BRBP-SBS 9166Y . I guess that it wanted to increase their frequency. -

i believe when it mentioned "INCREASE CAPACITY OF BUSES...." it meant the number of buses in the fleet...i think lah, but who cares...action speaks louder...
161 is ok by a few minutes... no problem with me.
for 902, one only has to wait less than 5 minutes for the next bus, so i strongly feel that it is ok for it to have a long queue.
further more, there are 2 SMRT staff to manage the frequency...if they find that the situation is hard to handle, they will always call for 2 buses to come at one go...
fine with me... 2 bendies are nice to see...also helps clear about 250 students and staff.
some prefer 169 too... so it is definitely ok.. -
I haven't really see the difference even through I go to Woodlands at least three times a week. Yes, I think you are right. I have been seeing more 168 buses these days. In case you did not notice, HGDEP added 2 DD, and it seems that now AMDEP has pure DDs. Even if AMDEP provides 1 SD, that will make 7 out of 11 buses DD. Whereas in the past there's only 10 buses. Service 161 has new frequency of 8 to 14 mins.
Service 168 has new frequency of 9 to 14 mins. -

7:38am: The time i stand at Blk 270 Bt Panjang Rd bus stop to wait for bus to go to school.
Around 7:45am++: A Service 187 ELBO came, none of the people can board due to bus too packed with pax.
Minutes later, 1 Service 963 (TIB485S) and 1 Service 966 OAC Merz came and skip my bus stop due to bus too packed with pax.
7:55am: TIB1109Y (Service 187) came, managed to squeeze almost everyone in through.
8:11am: TIB1109Y reached WRI, immediately, I went to queue for Service 902, and i saw TIB985R damn packed. Join in the long queue and I stood at Service 962 berth.
8:12am: TIB739K (Service 902) came, managed to move forward until Service 169 berth, continued waiting...
8:16am: TIB644A (Service 902) came, managed to move forward until the starting of Service 902 berth.
8:21am: TIB1140E (Service 902) came, boarded the bus and when it departed from WRI, Service 902 queue still stretch to Service 962 berth..
8:26am: TIB1140E reached RP bus stop.
8:32am: Reached my study cluster room as my block is the furthest from RP bus stop among all the study cluster blocks in RP. (W6)
Guinness's version: Now that's GREATNESS!
RP/SMRT's version: Now that's LATENESS!!
Therefore, my today's ride:

and the 66 new rigid SMRT Buses - they still want to save that extra money and refuse to buy more Bendies instead. how i wish SBST takes over all bus operations in spore one day!

I should say SMRT Buses need not bother buying anymore new buses. Just simply give up at least an interchange to SBST currently and progressively surrender the rest till they are left with trains operations only. -
