Agreed . I believe they removed it during its repainting process.
But i have to agree with what TS has said . It does look ugly . Compare our SG buses with UK buses and HK buses . They have their dress rims on and i dont see why SG cant be the same as them.
HK VO3x , those with dress rims on, looks smarter and brighter than SG ones (except for those 3rd batch VO3x with dress rims.)
