What do u guys think about the ezlink system on buses?

Not good. Today one of the systems on a Svc 10 DD hanged. Caused a 969 Mercz and a 293 MK III to do "illegal" boarding.
What happen to the 10 passengers? They still queuing at the berth waiting for the Svc 10 BC to successfully restart the system. -
Recently, I took a 54. Then when the bus reach the Far East Plaza Bus Stop, the EZ-Link reader was still (-) even though the exit door opened already. Then a man tap his card. Of course, as the EZ-link reader was still (-) , there was no sound. Only when he alighted already, the EZ-link reader was ready. So the reader gave out 5 beeps. This means that the man had to pay for the trip all the way until New Bridge Rd Ter, just because the reader was (-) , and not because he forgot to tap his card.

Well so far, I've never encountered any problems with the ezlink system as yet but hopefully not...all I can say is that anything that is related to IT will surely face some techincal glitches someday

Not quite bad to say, it's fast and efficient, but the EZ-Link Card Reader system can have problem sometimes. I've seen such things thrice. One was on SBS 3685E. That happened last year. When the BC was at the berth, the EZ-Link Card Reader System suddenly gave out problems. The BC tried to restart the system but to no avail. The BC decided to send another bus to replace it. The problem caused the passengers, including me, five minutes of delay.

Ez-link is bagus, but sometimes tak boleh one, you want tap then it switch off, dunno why, got attitude problem one.

IMO Ezlink system used are one of the best Public transport fare system in the world,Breakdown percentage is 0.5% daily which mean it's acceptable.Even the most advanced computerized system also have hangs and breakdown.

Why dun they charge a single fare like they did in Hk and just need to tap once...

so far so good.
but not many pple know the standard procedures (i.e. get a complimentary ticket and scan) when a bus breakdown. -
IT sucks...... some time can even see how much we are paying... It a system for the bus company... not a system for commutor... Basically has feature to ensure commutor pay the right fare but does not ensure the fare is deducted correctly...
