Dual operator status for 190?

the frequency very low leh, if sbst control 190 will make it high frequency, juz let smrt con trol 190 still. send 25 more buses to 190 and u see 2 buses come at 1 time, even 3. dat should solve the problem. dont expect buses to come so fast if 190 was to be handed over to sbst. i've saw 74 being full despite being a dd bus even when its frequency is the lowest out of all long-trip sbst buses(without loops)(lowest frequency bus is 179 but nt long trip and has loops) and summore can haf 2/3 buses come at the same time with alot of pple still.

when 190 was under SBST, it had more buses for 190. I dun think SBST can also do a good job. I personally agree that SBST are good in handling deployment of buses during the peak hours. Sadly, they have problem during the off peak hours. Just like svc 242, after 7.40pm, u can see the crowd appears but they only deploy those single decker bus. That cause pple to stand on the stairs and even some unable to board the bus. (BTW, the most passengers moved to the rear.) Express 502 too, u see how sucks are their deployment of buses during the weekends. Heavy loading appears and people standing at the stairs and need to bear this for more than 20mins to reach the next stop.

SBSt put stuff n compete like mad. then SMRT red alert warning n alarm sounds n start improving also on 190. then basically the effect is u get 4X better service on 190 compared to now. heck even 45 secs per 190 is not imaginable...consistent 45 seconds per bus. then again: i wonder if thats enough to handle the load.

is not enough. if SMRT cant pull the bus base for 190. maybe SBST can add to the bus fleet bse n make 190 a 45 second or 30 sec freq bus and have more carrying capcity for the 190 bus service. with two its achivable (assuming SMRT hs not enough buses now)Originally posted by menoob:190 has like 1min frequency during evening peak(witness it myself)

is not a case of competition if we see it like this. but i doubt SBST will leave it as sort of help SMRT. maybe steal the bigger share of the px from SMRT bsed on the fact that SBST cn do downroute n maintain a good freq on 190 if they get the service

PM Peak for 190 can manage. It only gets overcrowded when the S shifts disappeared. So i propose the S shift drivers to go back kjdep later say 8.30 or 9pm isntead of 7.30 8pm.
AM Peak seriously cannot manage... even with 190A and 2-3min freq... u see 4 190s together, often the first 2 bendies packed to the brim and the other 2 with some standing pax. -

perhaps SMRTB is trying to make some svc 190 pax give up and take the trains instead (also under SMRT - can either travel via EW or NS lines)

And i don't think 175 is BB SBS Service , its CCK
And u have forgotten Sv 173 at BB SBS Svc as well ..... -

I can only remember services like 179 , use to take them everytime , when the LRT opens , i feel sad to this service....brings back a lot of memories.. -
SMRT should just hive off their bus operations to Swan Transit if the latter is willing.

CCk svcs already load heavy during peak. at most grab 927 buses.

I believe, SBS had many buses on 190 as they did not add a helping service.
TIBS intro and shortened 700 to BP to SW/Marina
so right now, SMRT believe that 700 and 190 are aiding one another..
in which is true as the Q at BP in the AM peak is really super super long.
Some BP residents don't depend on 190 as 700 is another alternative for them.
Bendies are really common on 700 in the morning..
number of buses on 700 and 190 right now, should be almost equal to the number of SBS buses on 190 back then.
