SBStransit and SMRTbsues bidding to run Dubai Metro

this one i saw in ST business tdy.
read the article
anyhow i've seen Dubai on Amazing race. very nice city. their buses quite OK. very concentrated on ads revenue.
this Dubai Metro project seems big money. if SBStransit or SMRT can bid for it.... they must be making big money.
why is the big money not used to improve on local situation? buy more bus, more train?
worse if they are to bid and tender to build the thing. i see the figure 6 billion (or my eyes bluff me)
the St reporter also hinted that while the debate on poor transport in Sg going on (merger n one bus optr etc ) they dare do this..

i regard comfort delgro as SBStransit. after all they did grow from the bus company SBS.

The thing with SMRT is that they have better Metro experience rather than bus. -
Think for rail,SMRT got the upper hand over SBST.

well, the size of the project does not matter neither does the investment needed to build the line because at the end of the day, we all know where that's going to come from....
