New Scania Buses Coming to SBS

SBS has purchased new Scania buses. would be out at the end of the year. the new buses are wheelchair accessible. SBS will spend $35 million to bring in the new Scania buses

K95 , 124 or 230? I hope its K124 as i like its wheels & its engine sound! SBS has purchased 100 new Scania zero-step SD buses for trial purposes before deciding to buy 1000 more over a 5 year period. By current situations, it seems that depots with large amounts of AC Mk2s would need these buses first (unless slbp and amdep donates Mercs), so hgdep, bbdep and bndep would have a fairly high chance of getting them than other depots.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Yeah!! 1000 buses, first 100 is Scania, next 900 can be anything else, Volvo, Evobus, MAN/Neo-man (Neoplan), Irisbus, Scania, VDL bus (what used to be called DAF bus), Dennis-Alexander , Chinese bus, Japanese bus. -
When did you hear of this? I'm interested for a pic.
Finally, a thing to do during end-year school holiday, chase those New Scanias. -
SBS Transit will spend $35 million to bring in 100 buses in the 3rd quarter of the year.
The interior will be different from existing buses. If the response is favourable, it will replace the existing interior design.
It intends to buy 1000 buses over the next 5 years.
By year end, all 100 Swedish Scania buses will be in service.
Space for 2 PIW...one opposite the exit door, one behind the driver.
Seats on the left hand 2 rows will be single seats.
More standing space.
Legroom between seats will also be increased.
The seats at the back of the bus have to be raised because of the engine.
There will be 23 seats, down from 25.
Might want to put foldable seats at those areas for wheelchair to allow pax to seat when there are no wheelchair bound pax. -
Nope, I dun really agree the arrangment you mentioned above. Do look at the deployment of B9TL.. The needs of WAB buses on WAB services and not just fleet replacement. So Scania stopped using engine displacement and generation numbers on their bus models?
I believe K230 is 5th gen. What is the engine capacity? -
I think much of the rest might be B9Ls from Volvo. Please take note that not all 1000 buses will be scania WAB buses. Some of the numbers will also be DD WAB buses (Replacing those LO 3 axles buses).
I am so exciting with these new 100 Scania K230 buses, looking forward to see them on the roads. -
