Mercedes Benz Australia does not produce any bus. I just wonder whether there is any official launch of these new Scania K230UBs at SBS Transit's HQ (like last year February where they launched the B9TLs there. Sadly, I didn't attend the ceremony
).
And it's good news for me. I hope they'd be deployed on mainstream BNDEP and AMDEP/BRBP services and feeders. -
I guess the mercz in SL like their own depot than very much. I can tell so because they like to be No 1 then be No 2 or even No3! but seriously amdep is having too many merc.... just look at the numbers man! about 450 of the 700 merc are in amdep. time to send some to bbdep and hgdep (likelihood hgdep) during the Mk2/N113CRB scrapping season.. then maybe we may see the K230UBs in amdep

Anyway, I think the K230s are the same as the K95s. Both are 5th gen buses with 9L engine displacement. -
SBST buying 1000 units of Scania K230? I think it's quite impossible. Chances are, SBST will introduce other models as well. So just wait. Besides, those 1000 units will all be single-deckers. The LO 3-axles could be replaced by new double-deckers, which would be announced separately in the future, IMO.

I tihnk it's part of SBS Transit's skim of encouraging people to move to the back of the bus. I heard they will remove two back seats for standing space over the radio last month. Well, that could be possible and where do the poster of this post knows of it? Can't make it out?!
