cross border buses~

out of 5 cross border buses (170, 160, 950, CW1, CW2)
i rate dem as following (1 being the best, 5 being the worst)
1. 170
2. CW1
3. 160
4. CW2
5. 950
170, fastest, and very very efficient. during weekends when dere are a lot of pple, is like, u can see more than 10 buses at one time. yeap.
CW1 is gd, comparable with 170 but the reason i rate it 2nd because it does not hav ez-link card readers, to me, it causes juz a bit of inconvience. i hav ride on one before and i muz say it is gd!
160, kind of like supplement to 170, but i think its frequency can be increased quite a bit bah.
CW2. same goes for CW2, yeap, increase frequency could be gd
last but nt least, 950. not efficient + nt so clean bus + aircon nt v cooling. i think it is nt dat cooling coz dey are using old buses (those old mercedes bus). i ride on 950, saw cockroach (OMG). i was at the custom, and nt even 950 insight when i see "millions" of 170. and once, i ride on 950, it was sooo stuffy. i dunnoe why. i am nt bias against SMRT but den, dey really need to improve on some of their services, nt juz 950. ya....

170 and 160 can be grouped together lah, whichever comes i take mah. but i agree SBST is the best.
950 have to wait quite long if u miss a bus.
no point using CW1 if on ez-link since u miss out on x-fer rebates and the fare is not tat different. but if u wan a ride to town CW2 is good.

Amongst all the services, I love CW 3 most....goes by 2nd Link and avoids the chaotic Woodlands and JB checkpoint...Bus driver waits for passengers at both checkpoints and service is very fast

950 uses everybus from TIB447C to TIB466Y exculding TIB447C, TIB449Y (sometimes only), TIB450S, TIB452L, TIB454G, TIB461K, TIB462H and TIB466Y. The number is so small, thats why. SBST 160 & 170 have more buses mah

my experience with svc 170 (towards Queens St) from ard 1930hrs to 2100hrs is bad! I often got to wait for abt 30-40mins for the bus to come. And worse still, it often arrive in abt 2-3 buses!
i believe there's adequate buses but problem lies in bus bunching. dunno if BCs are playing the fool or not? -

My colleagues alway walk across the causeway (from sin to jb).. esp when there is traffic jam.. -
i take 170 most of e times..e onli prob i find is tt there is no que at e jb custom..when i wanna board n go e larkin station..everyone jux crowd ard e area and rush for e bus..sweat leh..

nowadays SV 170 blue plate have very good frequency from Kranji MRT to JB.
can alway see a few MK III park along Woodland Ave 3 (before Kranji MRT).
Once the previous SV170 blue plate leave the bus stop , the next bus will immediately drive over to pick up passengers.
was at Kranji MRT station earlier for 30 mins, each empty SV 170 blue plate come at interval of around 4-5 mins . Each was almost 75-85 % full at least after picking up passengers. after 4 blue plate SV 170 left, only one CW1 arrive.. -

Trust me that 170 is quite efficient. Well, when 170 starts out with the B57s, the frequncy is quite slow and during the time where the Volvo B10M Mark II NACs replaced the B57s, they recieved feedback to increase frequency and decided to start a short route which was the blue plate as many malaysian workers work near the Kranji area. Just recently, they put a new method which is to rest some of the buses along Woodlands ave 3 and once the bus at the Kranji ehh.. let's say Kranji MRT Bus Terminal left the berth. A blue plate bus will go straight to the berth.
160 for once they need to borrow a berth space from 78 or 79 at Jurong East Interchange. For CW3, The bus leaves every 25-30 minutes and once during fridays, you need to wait for an hour as the drivers have to go for prayers at the mosque nearby. But at least, you got what you waited for. Good Service and a good bus equals to a Great Ride.
