Bus catches fire at Kent Ridge Terminal, no one injured
SINGAPORE: A bus caught fire at Kent Ridge Terminal on Wednesday afternoon.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was prepared – after receiving a call just after 5pm, it sent a fire engine, a red rhino, two fire bikes and an ambulance.
SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire. - CNA/yy -
Fingers crossed thats its not an SMRT 189 bus...

Sad case man, but I hope it will not be scrapped like that, seems very intact (although one windows seems to be broken for escape purpose...) -
Must be terrifying. I always like to sit at the end of the bus. -

I am quite noob at these things, but from the picture, the fire seemed to have started from the vent (do you call it the radiator?) at the left end of the bus (the one on the CNA site is clearer) and spread to the frame work and the window...
Ideas please... -
Remember that a few Habits caught fire due to some wiring problems when they are introduced...

Unless the back can be tore down , if not the bus got to be scrapped.

Hmm, yeah I wasn't really sure cos when i walk past the thing, its very hot and gas seems to be escaping from the 'hole' and the grille.
I always remember when 1083L accelerate out of the bus stop at high rev (and many bendies alike) the hot gas was just stenching, and it was coming from the gille as well. Radiator or other I seriously not sure... -
This happened to TIB996J too.
My friend was onboard this bus and he experienced it. -

It doesn't matter if it share the same engine as rigid,Horsepower make the differences,Like Volvo D10A 245 for rigid and 285 for DD.I forsee a custom made body will happens soon. -

wtf.... i took TIB1118X on Svc 188 yesterday morning and the bus was still ok
