Renovation Works At Sengkang Interchange

I went to Sengkang Interchange yesterday, despite having to go through the 'dark pit'.
Here are some of the things I've noticed in Sengkang Interchange:
1. New glass panels are being set up for the alighting berths, suggesting that the alighting berths are becoming air-conditioned too.
2. Selected glass panels are being replaced progressively.
3. A new automatic door is being installed in the boarding berths area.
With the improvements made to Sengkang Interchange, users can now enjoy the convience of cool air-conditioning when they first step into Sengkang Interchange.
To facillitate the renovation, Service 83 and 86 berths have been temporarily shifted to Berth B4 (Don't know whether it's the correct berth number).
However, what I hope that the contractors could do is:
1. Remove the idea of a 'dark pit'. It is almost impossible to see anything inside the bus park and also it is scary to some especially when the bus arrive into the bus park.
2. Remove the extra door which separates the boarding berth and the alighting berth. It would be more convienent for passengers in this way.

Seems that this is the first time that you are in Sengkang Interchange. the reason on why there is a door there. The alighting berth used to be non-aircon while the boarding berths used to be air-con. Thats why the doors are there. Please give them some time to install the glass panels to make the alighting berths air-conditioned then could they take down the doors. If I were them, I planned the whole layout again, shut the whole interchange down and reopened a temporary one. It's a disgrace really, the condition of the place. Dark, gloomy , hot and I can't see the "renovation" improving the whole layout.

What I would personally do is to refurbish the entire place, using Toa Payoh as a idea template for the interior design. For the bus parking area, I would install large mirrors (like those you find on the celling of Expo MRT station) to reflect more sunlight in in the day (more environmentally friendly than using light bulbs
) and use giant halogen lamps to light the parking area at night. As for the interior, I would use brighter lighting and make it look less utilitarian than what it is now. -
