Damn pissed with bus 700...

You guys may know that there is a bus stop just across the road from the back exit of Orchart MRT station, and there is a pedestrian crossing right in front of the bus stop.
Just now at about 5.30pm I came out of the MRT station and saw bus 700 approaching, which I wanted to take. However the traffic light was at red man and I could not cross. Nobody boarded 700 and it was about to drive off when the lights changed to green man. 700 stopped and I proceeded to cross the road quickly to catch the bus.
Here comes the disgusting part. I tapped the door several times but the lady bus driver refused to open the door! And she even waved her hands in a frustrated manner to gesture me to go away! I was shocked, but could not do anything much.
And thus this bus driver refused to let a passenger up the bus at the bus stop.
The bus stopped about half a minute (with me waiting outside) for the traffic light to turn green before driving off.
That made my mood really bad, till now. Really pissed off by the way IÂ’m treated.
I know this small incident is just a part of the numerous poor service by public buses we encounter everyday, but I donÂ’t see what IÂ’ve done wrong to be treated like this.

if i met dis kinda situation when the driver don't wana open the door...
i'll either tap the door loudly, or show them the universal hand sign, or kick the door or just press the door c0ck...

So what if more people know about "BCs being rude"? That makes you happy.
Stop whining and just complain to the bus company. Await the outcome of the disciplinary action, if any. That's REAL action. -
Take down the bus number plate, service number, time, date, direction of route and location. That can help the bus company track the driver responsible.
From personal experience, a calm but strong letter with all these details works pretty well. -
If u write to them, they will tell u that this is for safety reasons...........

Thanks I know majority of the BCs are friendly since I've met several of them as well. But I think black sheep like this put the company in bad light. Like how the HCI guy puts his school to shame for that incident. What if the victim is a foreigner? Don't take bus anymore? Hmm, that's what you said...but I'm sure most of us can't survive without buses. I just want people to listen and know. That's usually what a rant is for. I believe the bus company receive many complaints everyday. They are not going to give a damn to this small incident, like I've said, where only 1 small little me is offended. -

I understand your situation regarding the bus driver who refused to open the door. However I would like to point out that such action is part of our safety measure to ensure that passengers do not hurt themselves during the attempt to board the bus while the bus is about to move off.
We apologise about the misunderstanding between you and the driver. Contrary to what was mentioned, the bus driver replied that she was merely trying to warn you to stay away from the bus, due to safety concerns.
We sincerely hope that you flag the bus in advance so that the driver will be prepared to stop and open the door. Thank you for taking SMRT buses.

Dear sir/madam,
XXX bus company has had a fine and long history in Singapore all these years. I have been most impressed with your company, especially the upgrade of better quality buses and ever friendly bus captains.
However, a recent incident has left me less than satisfied. (Explain your red light incident nicely here) I had tapped on the door politely a few times but the bus captain just looked at me blankly and ignored me. While I understand that buses cannot pick up passengers just about anywhere except at bus stops, I cannot comprehend the inflexible behaviour here. It was the red light and there were no oncoming motorcycles from the bus's left. The bus captain would have seen it from her left sided mirror. Safety is a non-issue here and it was still the red light at that moment. Would your company have any explanation as to why she could not open the door to allow me up?
I have often seen buses leaving bus bays for 1 to 3 meters, only to stop again. Then I would see a grateful passenger huffing and puffing his or her way up the bus. Unfortunately, I was bestowed no such kind act that afternoon. Instead, it was a show of nonchalance. Why has the company's employee demonstrated such an indifferent and inflexible behaviour towards a passenger? I certainly hope it's not because your esteemed organisation has monopolised that route.
I would like a proper explanation on this matter. If not, I shall ensure that this letter goes to The Straits Times or The New Paper and your complaints department shall reply me in the national press.

Just note down the time, date of incident , the bus rego & submit a feedback to SMRT under the SMRT Buses section so that they can follow-up with the situation & take appropriate action to the BC

that's his side of the story.
Look, he said it was 5.30pm. and if you happen to work there, you would know that its the peak period.
Waiting for jus one person might affect the whole schedule anyway. That would then affect the passengers at the later leg of the journey.
If that happens, then ppl will complain that 700 has very slow and irregular frequency.

its a cameo bus i guess. but you know that singaporeans quite kiasu. they don't want to wait for another bus. 1 min also don't want wait. I last time also run towards buses then the BC don't want wait then drive away.
