More 0405s will be refurbished in time to come, it takes time but do keep an eye out for itOriginally posted by Volvo Olympian:Think most of the TIB4xx Mercedes 0405's have the emergency exit shfited , spotted TIB475X , TIB431Y etc ...
But I think the JB-registered ones would be the lastOriginally posted by SMRT Buses:More 0405s will be refurbished in time to come, it takes time but do keep an eye out for it![]()
My guess is that they'll refurbish those that are really in need of refurbishment & if the rest are still in usable or good condition then they'll save it for lastOriginally posted by TIB1049L:But I think the JB-registered ones would be the last
agreed i would rather let them do something to the chairs instead of emergency exitsOriginally posted by XiaoTaro:Hmms... funny thing.... they didnt do anything to the cushionless chairs.![]()
Be patient, I'm sure they'll refurbish the seats too in time to comeOriginally posted by XiaoTaro:Hmms... funny thing.... they didnt do anything to the cushionless chairs.![]()

Well , In the early days 170 use to have B57's , then MK2's , and now MK3's...Originally posted by tintinspartan:Service 170 first started out with Volvo B10M Mark II (WA) NACs and got the air-con Volvo B10M Mark IIIs in 2002. I bet the next bus which would possibly replace the Volvo B10M Mark IIIs are the Volvo B10M Mark 4s (both Strider and DM).
And also forever suck-a-lot-of-dusts seats.. -_-"Originally posted by Superbus:I've been on one OAC O405 on Service 854, which the seats felt more cushion-like.
Then i think better get one of these seats in your home . This seats will collect more dust than other things . Better than vacuum cleaner.Originally posted by TIB1062Y:And also forever suck-a-lot-of-dusts seats.. -_-"
Aiyah, no matter what type of seats sure got dusts unless you can make dusts totally vanish from the earthOriginally posted by TIB1062Y:And also forever suck-a-lot-of-dusts seats.. -_-"
UDs will not be on svc. 950, due to the fact that they are bought in 1993 and the Box Merz are bought in 1994, which means the UDs would get scrapped earlier. Impractical since they have to register a 2nd batch of buses before the 3rd batch comes in. I bet the next one on 950 shall be Scania Striders and not the Elbos, since the Elbos are too limited in numberOriginally posted by tintinspartan:Service 170 first started out with Volvo B10M Mark II (WA) NACs and got the air-con Volvo B10M Mark IIIs in 2002. For Service 950, it would mean that the Scanias will replace the Mercedes 0405s in time to come. The last buses in the SMRT fleet to have Emergency Exits were the Scania EABOs and recently the Nissan U31RCN CACs. I think the UDs stand a better chance to service 950 soon as it is more roomier.
OOPS! Am I off-topic?
Nah. just refurbish the ELBOs and replace the window. Then put all 15 on 950!Originally posted by TIB1049L:UDs will not be on svc. 950, due to the fact that they are bought in 1993 and the Box Merz are bought in 1994, which means the UDs would get scrapped earlier. Elbos will be not be around for long.Originally posted by Raraken:Nah. just refurbish the ELBOs and replace the window. Then put all 15 on 950!
Sorry for bursting your bubble too... but SMRT just changed a few seats on TIB437... just the seat, not the back rest... replaced the seat cover, and well...FINALLY stuffed enough cotton to make it soft.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Elbos will be not be around for long.
Sorry to burst your bubbles for those who like me like to see the seats being changed, SMRT won't be changing the seats.
