I encountered this problem this morning. For some reasons unknown, my card went dead, which is surprising because I just got it replaced a few months back and it had worked the day before. My old card, in the original ez-link 'livery', lasted for about 4 years despite being accidentally dumped in the wash a few times. Goes to show they don't make things like they used to. It was quite awkward having to pay coins. I don't know how many monkey years ago I last did that...It is unfortunate that it will take 5 working days. I mean, what the heck??? If its spoilt, then just let us go to the Transitlink office and get a replacement. What do they want to investigate? Do we really have the time to tamper or fool around with the card to see how we can re-program it in such a way that the value never decreases? It just goes to show their over obsession with money and they must make sure they will get every single god forsaking cent we owe them. Sigh....looks like I have to search my house for loose change till next week. It doesn't help that the cash fare is more expensive. See, how clever! Argh!
Mine went dead 2 times when both were accidentally wetted when flagging for a bus in the rain. Went to Sembawang to replace it but they didn't charge me
