The "Brickland Road Extension"??Originally posted by patdog112:new road opening...
u guys tink any smrt or sbst bus will be rerouted to the route..? or new services?
Hardly that they will do that. by rerouting 985 in, they are losing out alot of Pax.Originally posted by kengkia:hooray....direct connection from bt batok to sungei tengah area w/o having to pass thru cck...think 985 would be one of those re-routed svcs when the extension road opened up...wild guess only...![]()
Thats the very last thing that they would want to do it especially by doing so, it will hurt their train business. Since there is already 172, very unlikely that 180 will be diverted into CCK. Somemore, doing so will hurt Bt Panjang residents of their fast connection to BNL.Originally posted by slwsglz:what about add extenstion of svc 180?180 used to ply from bukit panjang to boon lay.so since due to open of new road,i suggest svc 180 to skip few bus stops(in red font)thus adding new extension.skipped bus stops will be extended to cck way,ave 1 and ave 3 then to bb west ave 5 by brickland road extenstion and continue the trip to boon lay to give more competion to smrt svc 172 which also ply cck to boon lay int too.
Again its not possible , firstly ... as mentioned by sbs_boy , theres oredi 172 , why need another bus service to BNL from CCK Ave 3? And also ... by re-routing bus service it will affect the frequency... u wanna have 30 mins per bus? SMRT is already shortage of buses..Originally posted by slwsglz:what about add extenstion of svc 180?180 used to ply from bukit panjang to boon lay.so since due to open of new road,i suggest svc 180 to skip few bus stops(in red font)thus adding new extension.skipped bus stops will be extended to cck way,ave 1 and ave 3 then to bb west ave 5 by brickland road extenstion and continue the trip to boon lay to give more competion to smrt svc 172 which also ply cck to boon lay int too.
Seems like U never taken 180 before...Originally posted by slwsglz:what about add extenstion of svc 180?180 used to ply from bukit panjang to boon lay.so since due to open of new road,i suggest svc 180 to skip few bus stops(in red font)thus adding new extension.skipped bus stops will be extended to cck way,ave 1 and ave 3 then to bb west ave 5 by brickland road extenstion and continue the trip to boon lay to give more competion to smrt svc 172 which also ply cck to boon lay int too.
This is the so called Bricklands Road "extension". Extends the original Bricklands Road from Choa Chu Kang to Bukit Batok Road.Originally posted by patdog112:new road opening...

Are you suggesting that they are planning to build houses there already?Originally posted by demag_ac:BTW, for your information, this road was built by HDB.
R U sure???Originally posted by demag_ac:First, they will have to make a feasiblity study. When there is nobody stayin along the route, obviously SBST and SMRT will not want a service to pass through an area that will have nobody boarding.
FYI, 1)Bus Stops with/without bus bays/shelters can be built just bef/aft the opening of the extension w/o any bus Services using them, 2)by looking the alignment of the drain, one can guess where a future Bus Stop is, 3)the MRT line only pass through the part of the extension(from Bt Batok West Ave 5 to Former Keat Hong Camp I) so U can't make a remark that there aren't any bus stop along the extension...Originally posted by demag_ac:Secondly, no bus stop (from what I can see from the MRT Train).
No I am not suggesting that HDB flats are going to be built there soon.Originally posted by muziq bus:Are you suggesting that they are planning to build houses there already?
If yes, then good...

BTW, the rd name is Brickland Rd, not Bricklands Rd
FYI;Originally posted by demag_ac:2) By looking at the alignment of the drain, yes, you can make out where any future bus stop can be constructed. It will be catered for under the Road Reserve. I am pointing out that at the way things are currently, it is going to be quite a while before any services will ply that route, unless SMRT or SBST introduce a Express Service.
3) Have you seen any bus stop along the whole extension? Or more precisely, have you went through the whole extension and seen any bus stop along the way?
5) I stand corrected - There are a few blocks at the extreme end of the new extension. Which to SBST and SMRT does not justify diversion of any routes to the extension.
