WHY SMRT BUSES NO TV??

No mobile tv is better.
Its noisy and boring and the costs will be transferred to the passengers anyway.
Its not as if mobile tv shows SCV channels. -

SMRT Buses have no TV because mediacorp has not paid SMRT buses to install TV on their buses.

Most of the programmes that are telecast on TV Mobile are mostly repeats if I'm not wrong

Having a TV on board buses is an interesting idea, but that all it is, an interesting idea.
In reality, it is annoying, because you cannot select what you watch.
Imagine a Mak Chik having to sit through, a Chinese show. And the comercials are always noisy. You, the passengers, are marketed off as a captive audience. Who board a bus, because they want to watch a show?
Most passengers I observed are oblivious to the screen. Once in a while you tio bey pio ah the show is something interesting to you. But then you have to alight.
TV Mobile is not worth the cost of installation, maintaining, and operating, and administering on buses.
As the passengers are subjected to commercials while travelling, theoretically the fares should be reduced, but instead the fares are increased to subsidise the operating cost of the TV on board.
By the way, playing of musical instruments, electronic or otherwise, is prohibited on board public buses. Its in the rules and regulations for public transport. It means you cannot play you Ghetto Blaster in buses. This also covers your portable DVD player. Remember you are the masses. You cannot. "They" can.
This can only happen in Singapore. -

Besides, they keep on playing "Planet's Funniest Animals" so many times that it has become very annoying.
The only thing worth watching is the Just for Laughs gags and perhaps the news. The rest are garbage. -
