They have extended the Scanias instead for 2 more years while they leave the O405s at 17 yrs of lifespan. -

Why SBS scrapped all the Mercs before lifespan and no extension? There are 700 Mercedes 0405s on the roads and it will take a long time before all of them are gone for good.

I just hope SBST does extend the lifespan of the O405, many of them have been extensively refurbished with new floorboards, license plates, repainted/restickered liveries etc, and I must say AM/BR & SL depots have done a good job maintaining the buses. Even if they don't, I hope the buses can be sold overseas as they are still in quite good condition.

For goodness sake, all these old buses should make way for new ones. Like them or not, they have to go.
Btw, 1000 over buses will not be all Scania WAB buses, please take note that there are other bus models in consideration that includes both SD and DD WAB buses.
