SBS9834C: The fastest VSO Volgren in Singapore

I was riding it to Sengkang from Woodlands and see how the baby go. It actually passed some trucks going at 65-70 km/h but SBS9834C's speedometer shows 50 km/h. I don't believe it hit there. It overpassed speed limit. The driver thought he drove at 50-55 km/h but I felt and heard the engine and it must have went above it to 65 km/h.

I always ride VSOs and most of them tend to be like humming through TPE/SLE. SBS9834C did not sound like 'humming' when I rode it just this afternoon. IT just 'pedal to the metal' I judge speed to:
1) Speed of other vehicles
2) Sound of Engine -
1) How can you accurately tell the speed of another vehicle? Do you have a speed gun (or do you have one implanted in your eyes)? Did you ask the driver of the other vehicle? Did you see the speedometer of the other vehicle? Is it working properly? Can you verify any of the above? How can we accept your claims, then? Plain observations can be deceiving. Your judgement may be impaired by the surroundings.
2) The B10TL engine note is peculiar. I feel it lacks low end torque; so it has to keep the revs high so as not to lose power. Thanks to its funny gear settings and the speed limiter, the engine is very loud but the speed of the bus doesn't reflect it. -

Ironic,I've driven buses with tampered speedometer,Some even show 40 but actual is above 80km/h,SMRTB?Much easier to hit the 70 mark

I've seen SBS850P on Svc 34 going past 85km/h. And a B9 which hit 70km/h. How do you explain that ? -

You haven't seen the likes of 9849K and 9848M.......these crazy B10TLs used to overtake the 161 LOs with ease.
I've also tracked the off service 9849K pushing along SLE at 75km/h. The B10TL was really bouncing merrily when my father's car followed behind as it went down the slip-road at AMK. -
Can actually say TIB1222C is one of the fastest in WL Feeder for Voith Habits.
Can chiong from the stop @ Blk 532 to the 962 junction at maybe 70+km/h
TIB1049L got speed limiter cannot go tha fast -
It has been said time and time again, please (x10) refrain from stating the bus registration numbers. Just the model will do. If you have to, please use PM. By law, the buses are not supposed to travel at the said speed. Your actions may have dire consequences to others.

Anyway i've seen buses running at high speed , first: took 9190B on 168 in nov 2004 and it travelled abt 80-90+km/h on SLE , 2nd seen 969 Dennis overtaking a DD & Mk3 at SLE when i look at it , it sped off thats why i cant catch the rego. 3rd: 9314L on 168 have sped along SLE & overtook 2679E on 161.

I may have an idea of what you can do next time to see the cruising speed of a bus on an Expressway.
EXPERIMENT 1
Take 2 points on a map (A and B) on exits/entrances of a target expressway.
Measure the distance, d of A and B through the bus route. (NOT DISPLACEMENT!)
Record the value of d.
Take a bus.
When bus goes past Point A, start a stopwatch.
When bus goes past Point B, stop the stopwatch.
Record the value, t1.
Try the experiment with the same bus for a minimum of 2 tries (to ensure accuracy by averaging results). Record these values t2 and t3.
Find the mean time taken for the bus to cruise on this expressway by:
(t1 + t2 + t3)/3. Record this as t.
Calculate the average speed of the bus by using the formula d/t. Hence that is your approximate speed of the bus. (you have to correct the distance to km or m, and the time to hour or seconds, depending on whether you want S.I. units or speedometer values)
DO NOT use values of t1, t2 or t3 that have been interrupted (for e.g. bus has to apply emergency brakes, or traffic jam)
Word of precaution: Correct all values of d and t used to their respective significant figures.
Or if you want a more interesting experiment...
Draw a table of 2 columns and 6 rows.
Label the first column d/km and the second column t/h
Pick Points A and B along an expressway. Measure the length, d1 of the distance of Points A and B where the bus will use. Record d in the table.
When the bus goes past Point A, start a stopwatch. When the bus goes past Point B, stop it, record t in the same table.
Take 4 more readings of d along the same expressway with the same bus and repeat the experiment. Take the readings of t that are corresponding to the values of d you stated.
Plot a graph of t(h) against d(km). Draw a best fit line.
Find the gradient, S of the graph.
Find 1/S. This value is the average speed of the bus.
