Depends . Some BC scolds , some dont . I've taken pics at bus stops b4 , but they like heck care one . But if u suay suay kena one angry BC , maybe he will .

Kindly explain on why you are taking photos. Most BC will just continue to do what they are doing and just leave you alone. Even if the BC scolds, NEVER get into a quarrel with them. I take pic of a couple of Habits with my film camera a few years back and I was taking a Merc 0405G Smiley Hispano and the driver just pose at me. Too bad, the film was destroyed.

Drivers are becoming more alert of people taking photos of buses due to the July 7 incident happened in Europe (you get what i mean..). This applies the same to taking photos inside Bus interchange and terminals. Althought some interchange may have the heck care attitude of people taking photos, but that doesnt mean that we could do that all the time. we will never know if the authorities have already been notice about us. Im not saying that taking photos of buses means that we are terrorists. Just to be safe. This is Singapore, where Bus Fans are not really that big group and well-known as compared to other countries like UK, Australia or even HongKong. Just to be safe, we should always try to refrain from taking photos at sensitive locations like Airport and Bus Terminals/Interchanges.
Hope you guys understand why are we always trying to stress the importance of not taking photos inside the interchange and sensitive places. we have known people of getting caught by the authorities and were given rounds of interviews before the person was being released. -

i ever encountered photographing an SMRT bus at PIE Police Academy bus-stop a couple yrs back. The driver was not happy and raised his hand up towards me as if telling me off or trying to say what i'm up to. i just ignored him and then he drove off.
talking abt terriorism; i bet those culprits won't be so stupid and photo buses so openly like bus fans ba? most prob they just hide around or just use spy cams to photograph at most. maybe some of us here already got noticed by the detectives but they later checked and then realised we are only bus crazy people chasing after our idols only? -

Smart terrorists blend in very well. That's all I can say.

terrorists doesn't necessary need to take photos before they can blow up certain things. they can always memorise the buillding/facilities plan or layout and start from there.
most important thing to prevent terrorist acts is to look out for people carrying bulky items, haversack, etc. I've seen a couple of times some pax onboard eg svc 858 placing luggages at the standing area then moving away to sit right at the rear. What if it turn out to be bomb inside? A suicide terrorist preparing to sacrifice himself too? And the worst part is when the Changi Airport policemen went onboard the bus, they saw the big bulky items, just stare a while then alighted.
or what about people wearing thick clothings and looked abnormal? eg the thick clothing seemed rather heavy and looks suspicious?
IMO, such scenerios are much much worse than trying to pin down people photographing buses. and i believe a terrorist knowing the heightened security will always try to remain in very low profile and dare not go around photographing in the open la! -

Last time, in the old BNL interchange, I was standing at the 178 berth there. I was daydreaming, staring... Then suddenly a 178 UD driver turn in, at first never even notice him. Then later he like bu shuang like that, keep on nodding his head up, as in the "what?" moving head up..
This driver so paranoid lah... Not even looking at him. I dunno what will happen if you take photo of his bus! -

i just wish the bus drivers would be aware of our hobby like the bus drivers in hong Kong or japan.
in japan Hokkaido the bus driversa re a curious lot.they slow down when u take their pic n when at night they let u snap 5 shots at them until u wave them off.
and for the drivers who do u spent time explining to them its ur hobby they give u that face or give u the take down ur name face.
but i have seen and snap at drivers who know they r driving a specia bus n wave or even do the V sign at m ypic. niceness. i got one guy who combed his hair nicely prior to my spot , slowed down n waved. hahhaha

As a photographer (not only in buses, I must say), I find a big heart necessary to go for big and good photos. Experience is good, sunlight is good (but don't stress too much on it) and angle is good (not saying myself lah, alot of fellow forumnites do it good too).
Go ahead and shoot shots that you feel good.
