Actually some private buses already has their own routes during peak which cause more congestion @ bus lanes/stops.They like to stop exactly infront of public buses which cause delay and problems

I think 975 needs O405Gs in the morning. Consistently heavy loads in the morning from Bt Panjang Int. Busload of students get on, all alight at Teck Whye area, 2 stops down, same situation repeats itself except that its a busload of air force / army / police people. DAFs and UDs can barely cope.

I think for down trips, it's best to have flexible timings. For 179 and 242 especially. The usual timetabling is very tight for the first half of the journey, but rather slack in the second half.Originally posted by service_238:any services or specific points to recommend based on experience?
In "theory", the down trips are deployed in between big gaps. I.e. 179 buses leave BNL @ 4min frequency, but arrive back @ 2min.
But actually, in reality, since the first half of the route is very tight, the buses departing from BNL would be late along the route.
But the down trips would be departing on time, so almost always, the down trip buses will be ahead of their order and end up rather empty, while those which departed from BNL would be full to the door!
So I think it's best to have flexible timings, so the order of the buses still remain the same. Maybe they can communicate with OCC to ask them about the exact position of the buses which are supposed to be in front or behind them.
But I think this flexible timing thing will never happen though... -

Time for suggesting a SWT for Service 975 le... Usually the students load is to supplement Service 190 which has a rather bad frequency in the wee morning (towards CCK) as some of Service 190's buses will either do downtrip from Bt Panjang Rd (Blk 604, towards New Bridge Rd terminal), or morning crossover to Service 180 which resulted in "2 minutes" frequency for that service (180)..Originally posted by SBS9818A:I think 975 needs O405Gs in the morning. 975A operates from HTA to CCK MRT on special events @ HTA.

just wanna share my experience just now during evening peak.
I took svc 187 at jrg west st 52 bus stop opp blk 509... many ppl are waiting for svc 98 to get to taman jrg i think...
Then when the bus (187) arrived at lakeside MRT (in direction of Boon Lay), I saw a very huge crowd taking svc 98 to go home... I assume they have waited for SOOOO long for the bus to come...
Maybe SBST should deploy some buses, starting from lakeside MRT bus stop (in direction of tmn jrg) during the evening peak to Jurong East int (just like 243W, where it starts from st 81 during morning peak) instead of starting from Jurong East int...
This service is still called svc 98A, it's just that it does not starts from jrg east int... -

Why nobody mention Service 27 har?
Service 27 also effing packed in the mornings and in the evenings..frequency is fast, but every bus that comes is still damn packed.. -
sv27 got some sort of assistance from sv34 at Tampines to Airport sector, not so bad
