Which bus in the service is the best maintained?

Lets discuss in our opinion, the best maintained bus. For me, on Service 162, SBS 2804K. Acceleration and speed is clear and hardly any vandalism.

a o402 on sv 193 is also v-well mantained. No Scratches, Cold AirCon, Brakes doesnt screech like most other not well mantained buses

TIB1218 from 812... definitely best maintained in terms of cleanliness, not too sure about engines and gearbox...

just promote their favourite bus will do, just hope they don't say like this "no leh this bus where got good?" its just our personal preference anyway. and people who take 162 should really take SBS 2804K. for people who have those motion sickness, this bus is perfect, gearbox won't stuck and acceleration and speed is smooth, brakes are also perfect, no screeches. but if i were to make one about best acceleration, SBS 2801T is better than this, this one a bit slower than it, but sadly, 2801T is one of the buses on 162 which breakdown easily,Originally posted by 105090:this topic...

3N buses have freezing aircon in the night... when only there are afew passengers on board...

806, 812 had some very good maintained buses.
For 851, it's the extreme two ends, from one brand new-like (O405 Volgren Bodied), to one that seriously smells (O405 CAC). -
238 fleet the problematic ones are 176C 177A
201M and 335K are the best in the fleet. CAC merc... 2 perm on the fleet... hard to compare with the rest -

Question : How to you guage Acceleration and Speed ?
Is there some measuring tape or something like that which i could use to guage the acceleration ?
Whether a bus accelerate fast or slow, driving fast or slow ALL depends on the Driver. Does it got to do with the bus itself ? From what i know, no matter what condition the bus is, if the BC/SL is behind time, of course there will be a way for the bus to accelerate fast and travelling at high speed no matter what bus the BC/SL is driving. -
I find svc 189 buses well maintained more or less, unless wear and tear (597C floorboards), this goes kudos for KJDEP as well.
Therefore, favourite also can promote, because, simple, it is and should be well maintained.
1224Y, 1162S and 633G are some of those well maintained. Sometimes there would be dirt but soon, they are cleaned as they are back from their split breaks (except for full shifts buses, can see cleaner the next day). This applies to all the buses, but these stand out. 869T has 'Take a look around our little communist town' which i find funny. Its behind the joint, at the side of the seat before the third exit. Same message found on 777A before. -

Chickenlittle2 will like 524G, absolutely no jerks at all. I thought the bus had stuck gears at first because it just did not feel like an 0405 without the jerks.

i remember once, when 462B was still having the mindef ads, transmission sound cannot be felt, like stuck at 1st gear, but the gear keep moving on, quite irritating, but few days later, it was remedied.Originally posted by SBS BUSES LOVER:548M also , cannot feel the automatic transmission -
SL 334 and SL 97 seems to have well-maintained fleets. (including the crossovers, and 97e)
BB 99, the VO3x Batch IIs are OK. 9225K and 9227E are in sorry states. No way for comparison.
SL 52/AM 52, both seem ok. When SL 52 got their first buses, they all seemed to be in sorry states. Today, most of them improved. AM 52 also got an improvement. However, don't look here for a broken speed limiter.
BB 156 is in a sorry state.
BR 143 looks pretty much OK.
AM 162 looks average at best. Recommend me 2804? Ok. I'll try. 2801 to me is average at best.
BN 66 is disgusting. "Burnt" Striders, "burnt" MK IIs, what more?
HG 80's maintenance looks pretty decent. Whether it's truly ok is a different story; I haven't really taken them.
HG 105 is ok, but not what you call impressive.
The DTs on HG 62 seem ok. Controllable.
HG 27, in the times I've taken, don't seem to be very well-maintained. Fuming air-conditioner, and fanbelts, but the fanbelt problem is not very serious on HG 27.
My best-maintained criteria:
1) structural integrity of the bus.
2) ability to CONTROL. (not speed. Speed then crash?)
3) The presence of a speed limiter (if it's broken, what maintenance is that?)
4) The amount of patchwork done on the bus. (if there's a lot of patchwork compared to ordinary flaws, it shows the depot is effective in patching, even if the colour may not be correct. Recall the R on reuse and R on recycle?)
With regards to flaming, why flame? There're people around who are living in the very estates which you're criticising about, but you don't see them getting their face black and bombarding you with barrages of questions on "Why?"
My residence allows me to experience a little of Soon Lee, Hougang, Bedok North, Bukit Batok and Ang Mo Kio. You can say negative things about other buses. Just accept it and consider them. That's all. -

Some buses with condense windows doesnt mean the AC are too strong,The drivers didn't bother to switch off the engine during breaks.This is common on Night buses and last buses.
Currently the worst maintance buses from SMRT are AMDEP ones.Need more feedbacks from public
