Exploded engines...

years ago.. my friend told me he saw a 180 habit bendy engine exploded at the bus stop opp pheonix LRT..
its dam loud until people in the flat open the door to see.... exploded like 3 times.. i not sure of the rego though -
no wonder last time i heard some loud bangs simultaneously .

Hmm, maybe something short of an explosion bah, I don't think there was any fire, although did heard on the news before also.
Some electric short circuiting also can sound like a big explosion, but no fire, I guess those at labs deal with such things occasionally. -

Potassium dropped in cold water produces KOH and H2 gas. That one, doesn't relight, but extinguish with pop sound.
O2 one different story. Want some O2? Simply decompose perchlorates or decompose H2O2 with a catalyst.
Other methods are also appreciated.
If potassium reacts with oxygen, I believe it's burning in O2 gas, which yields K2O. If you aren't suppose to look at the DIRECT reaction of Mg burning in oxygen... -
