at Lab? you mean Potassium (huge amount) & Freezing Cold Water?Originally posted by jetabt767400:Hmm, maybe something short of an explosion bah, I don't think there was any fire, although did heard on the news before also.
Some electric short circuiting also can sound like a big explosion, but no fire, I guess those at labs deal with such things occasionally.

hehe. and also the test of oxygen with the glowing splint, we play till theres no more oxygen in the test tube..Originally posted by jetabt767400:Yeah, I think so...
Also best when dealing with capacitors, got kenna once in school's lab before, damn funny with a pal of smoke...
Oh, the glowing splint will go 'poof' and got fire one right? Hmm, yeah damn fun also...Originally posted by QX5216J:hehe. and also the test of oxygen with the glowing splint, we play till theres no more oxygen in the test tube..![]()
err... maybe the tyre gas? later another BOOM!Originally posted by jetabt767400:Oh, the glowing splint will go 'poof' and got fire one right? Hmm, yeah damn fun also...
Eh then the engine part how leh, use lighted splint to test? Lols...
Ok, ya, no good no good, be bus fan must love bus...Originally posted by QX5216J:err... maybe the tyre gas? later another BOOM!
*ok.. we sound like we're giving them ideas to destroy a bus!*
Its Rubidium. No one wants to try that...Originally posted by kenn3th:Group 1 elements the worst being Ceasium![]()
ya you know when potassium reacts with oxygen something will happen.. bla bla bla... something will relight with a pop sound... bla bla bla...Originally posted by SBS9806J:This become a Science Lab?![]()
They're talking seperate reaction leh.Originally posted by service_238:ya you know when potassium reacts with oxygen something will happen.. bla bla bla... something will relight with a pop sound... bla bla bla...
Exploded engines is about chemistry and mechanics anyway
Who got in Chem ar? Can help me CCA Senior in ChemistryOriginally posted by Donavan:They're talking seperate reaction leh.
Potassium dropped in cold water produces KOH and H2 gas. That one, doesn't relight, but extinguish with pop sound.
O2 one different story. Want some O2? Simply decompose perchlorates or decompose H2O2 with a catalyst.
Other methods are also appreciated.
If potassium reacts with oxygen, I believe it's burning in O2 gas, which yields K2O. If you aren't suppose to look at the DIRECT reaction of Mg burning in oxygen...
