Oh. That's why North East Line is built instead of North West Line. This might not be the case. Different areas, the way people travel are different. People living in Hougang or even Serangoon may not necessay passby their own hometown interchange. Reason might be that people in the northeast usually have direct buses to different location in Singapore and for Yishun, people usually take the feeder to YIS Int and make a transfer. todays bus system is built up on the density from the 1960s. in 1960s most routes ply the limits of clementi - tpy - bedok and city. any other route stretching out are basically way way ulu services.
one example the old 81.
today the bus system is adjusted such a way that they just add services n add... din bother uniform distribute the density over the island. as a result u get dense dense at city areas but really crap connections outside the limits of clementi - TPY and bedok
esp CCk n yishun , the co TIBS then din even bother with neighborhood by neighborhood connection to tow 0 chintown - or shenton way or other place
