Except for a good bus knowledge, another thing is leadership. No matter how good knowledge is, its useless without the power to lead. People coming up for the post know themselves best. I guess we should support those who come forth and offer their service. Now we are selecting mods, not spelling bees or erm, bus dictionaries?!

i thought we need to apply through PM? its not really much about buses only, as said, its about controlling the bus forum. and i see some people are even testing others questions about buses. i don't see the need for this. someone who has much knowledge about buses, and knows how to control the forum is enough. lets just let the admin choose, he already stated to PM him if anyone wants moderator position, so i doubt that voting one another will work.

No wonder there's a stigma some of you guys carry, it's the way you must insert bus stuff into every damn aspect in life! Actually I do agree that we should get a neutral party as a moderator. Seeing from past members and mods alike have been wording each other senseless due to difference in preferences and perhaps biasness towards an individual. What we need here is a true leader who can settle disputes with a calm head. What we had in the past was only adding fuel to fire.
Still, no matter what we say, it still boils down the Jason's final decision. I trust that he will pick the best persons for the job and we should respect his decision. -

From a third party POV, i dont understand why there should be quarrels or arguments in forum of this subject.
Of course not all mods should be an outsider, but a third neutral party, who finds it his main duty to perform the admin stuff, ie, close flaming threads ,repeated threads, finds it easier to carry out his work, rather than someone who is an insider, and has inclinations to support one group or another. -
