SMRT Buses

Staying in Holland V and has to rely on SMRT106 to Orchard and SUNTEC.
It seems recently the waiting time for SMRT106 is getting bad (I now got to wait for up to 15min for it to arrive). And to make it worst, now there are fewer bendies plying on SMRT106.
This afternoon I have waited for 15 minutes for SMRT106 at Capitol. A single cabin SMRT106 arrived. By the time the bus arrived at SMU, no more seats available. When at Dhoby Ghaut, many passengers started to crowd at the entrance. When at Youth Park, it was sardine packed. When at Orchard, it was still sardine packed. When at Wheellock, bus captain skipped. Bus captain again skipped the bus stops at British Council, Botanic Garden and Holland flyover.
Is it to be the norms?
Prior handing over the SERVICE 106 to SMRT, SBSTRANSIT definitely has better frequencies, and SBSTRANSIT provides double deckers to SERVICE 106.
I sincerely urge SBSTRANSIT to take back the service. -

It is a grave mistake in selling TIBS to SMRT. There is little incentive for SMRT to provide bus service to compete with their rail service. -

Hmm, I experience that while at SP Dover bus stop as well, waiting for 106 can be a pain in arse, I rather 14/105/147/166/185 then 189 or 173 then 189...

That probably explains why the bendies missing from SMRT106 and SMRT61. -

Sure they are running a business, they should have make planning. So they are not anticipating more passengers over the years, or they have no intend to expand their bus business? Even if SMRT buys 100 more bendies , but there aren't any BC to drive them , they become redundant resources . -

I think Bt Panjang is still quite ok especially off peak.
Look at Sembawang. Other than an MRT Station, their bus network is quite bad. The only services that goes to city are 167 and 980. However, their frequency are quite bad most of the times. 962 is quite good but it goes to Woodlands/Admiralty only. 856 is still ok but not 859. The frequency can be so bad for a "Feeder" service that some people would rather walk, although it may be a 3 - 4 bus stop distance. (Observe the walkway that is parallel to the MRT Tracks under it during PM Peak hours) -
What to do? Blame Mah Bao Tan for giving SBS(T) the NEL in 1999.
Anyway, The O405G Habits on 106 look nicer than the LO3Xes that served up to 2000. -

This is what I suffered yesterday together with a lot of Indians at Little India bus stop waiting for Service 960 towards BPJ/WDL:
- Reached Little India MRT Station bus stop @ 10:22pm.
- From 10:22pm to 10:43pm waited for a svc 960 bus to come.
- TIB 1088 Z / TIB 1242 U came at 10:43pm, SKIPPED Little India MRT Station bus stop.
- From 10:43pm to 11:00pm, waited for another svc 960 bus to come.
- TIB 1066 L came at 11:00pm, letting pax to alight before traffic light at Little India MRT Station bus stop, after that, when green light le, it SKIPPED my area bus stop AGAIN!!
- From 11:00pm to 11:13pm, waited for another svc 960 bus to come,
- TIB1161U came at 11:13pm, finally can managed to board the bus.
- Bus reached after Newton Circus bus stop, SL open all 3 doors, then he proceed to the most rear exit door, ask people to move to the back.
- After that when he came to the middle exit door (I'm standing around that area), he scolded us in quite an angry tone and he said "CANNOT MOVE ah?!?"
In summary, total waiting time for Service 960 is 51 minutes!! -

And please la ppl, the load of pp on 190 is huge. 2min intervals not enough. Same case as London's 73.
and I make transfers at these 2 towns daily with no problems. The only delay I had was last week on 190(pm peak BP to CCK) waiting time was 7min. Then 2 bendy came. but da Red EDS inside claimed that there was "Jam at PIE".
